Here's a little framelock I made awhile back. The whole thing is made of heat treated 440C, handle and all. Pretty tough little knife. Blade is about 3" long.

The "experienced" Benchmade is my sweetheart which I've had going on 10 years now. The Spyderco I got for my wife when she said she wanted a knife, and tried to buy some garbage before I said I'd hook her up. The classy stag was a gift when I was on my 1st Submarine, (USS Tennessee SSBN 734) and it's going to my boy when he's old enough.
