I was given a Tasco scope of unknown age by someone who inherited hunting equipment and didn't want it.... and I'm trying to decide if it's worth mounting on my 10/22 for general purpose use. I'd like to get an opinion on the scope before I waste any time trying to mount and zero it if it's junk. The scope is, as I mentioned, a Tasco of unknown vintage, it's labeled in gold lettering on the eyebell "Tasco 4x32 Supercon coated Omni-View Opticentered" number 667V. It's got a machined center, a gloss black anodized tube, the lenses are both coated with a deep blue coating, and the optics are very clear and bright. The field of view is odd... it's sort of like a panoramic camera. It's wider than it is tall. It's clearly designed to be that way, but I've never seen a scope like this before. Does anyone have any past experiences good or bad with any Tasco scopes like this one?
