first off, here's what I've got that is staying:
Marlin 925M in .22 mag w/ NRA Sport Optics (Brunton) 3-9 x 40 (small critters)
Savage 111G in .25-06 w/ Simmons Master Series 6-21 x 44 (small to medium critters)
Mossberg 500 in 12 ga w/ fully rifled sabot slug barrel & cantilever mounted Bushnell Banner 2-7 x 36 (deer & bear in the woods)
what I am trying to sell consignment is a Remington 700 SPS in .300 wsm w/ Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14 x 40 and fitted with a muzzle brake; the damned thing is too long for use in my 1-man treestand and other smaller tree stands on the property where I hunt; it seems that the muzzle brake attracts lots of bark, dirt, spider webs, etc and is becoming a bear to keep clean in the woods;
basically, the Mossberg 12 ga slugger will become my primary woods blaster and I've been tossing around the idea of something in .308 or .30-06 in bolt action or a Ruger 77/44 in .44 mag to match with my S&W 629 or a lever action of some sort (.30-30, .357 mag to match with my Ruger Blackhawk, .44 mag to match my S&W 629); not really into anything semiauto (hunting, tactical, target, et al)
I'm not sure which way to go; which way would some y'all go? do ya think that I am well covered?
