I just found out that work is sending me to WV for 2-4 weeks. I have no idea where in WV yet. It is a plant that rhymes with RuPont;)

After getting utilities restored from Ike today around 8:00 pm I have found through http://www.handgunlaw.us/ that my Texas CHL is not valid there.:barf: I never realized how attached at the hip I was.(pun very much intended)

So now I am looking at the legalities of keeping my G26 in the hotel and possibly rental vehicle if legal. If it is worth it to fly (trying to talk them into letting me drive).

Is there any kind of restriction on magazine capacity? Should I leave the G17 mags and/or the G26 mags with +2's at home?

Knife laws, specifically referring to blade length restriction, and assisted opening. Anywhere prohibited to carry? Any concerns with the wave feature?(Spyderco Endura 4 w/ wave or Kershaw Blur)

Chemical agents, am I good to go on my can of Fox Labs? Again prohibited places to carry?

Anything else ya'll might think I should know? I will prolly be working 7 12's so I wont get out much.

Thanks in advance.

IANAL, but I can answer a couple questions.

No mag cap restriction that I'm aware of.

You can open carry in a vehicle. Also legal to OC otherwise, but there's also a 'breach of the peace' clause that can get sticky if someone calls the cops about a 'man with a gun'.

That's about all I know.

And if you happen near Charleston or Dunbar, they have preemption that prohibits open carry. As far as carrying knives you shouldn't have any issue. As usual, don't carry them into federal buildings etc.

Here is a link to WV Firearm laws if you want to skim it.

West Virginia is still a free state. When you find out closer to where you'll be, let me know. I grew up around a place that sounded awful lot like "RuPont." ;)
