Anyone ever had or have nerve pain issues in lower back, glutes, and/or legs when carrying concealed? I usually carry IWB at 3 - 4 o'clock. My pain problems seem to be worse when carrying. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this, or maybe there's a doc on here that could weigh in??
Yes. For me it's called a sciatic nerve and it is a pain in the a&&, and down the legs to just below the knees. However, it comes to many whether they carry a gun or not and usually due to getting old. In my case it was most likely a due to carrying a gun, ammo, etc., for almost my entire life and also being to live to the ripe old age of 73. And yes, still carrying probably does not help, but neither does hiking, driving long trips on bumpy road, working around the house, etc. But I figure if I cannot carry, cannot live my life the way I want and just ignore the pain, I might was well just leave this world.
However, a good doctor MIGHT be able to help out. Shots in the spine did not work for me; however, have many friends who had the same problem and many had great luck with the shots.
So my suggestion is head off to a good spine doctor and get a find out if it is a problem that might be able to be solved medically before spending money on ideas from non-professionals. Because I can guarantee I have carried with heavy duty belts and usually have carried multiple mags on the other side of my body and still...the nerve stenosis arrived in full glory.
Also note, some of those who I know who have had sciatic nerve problems had the symptoms start in their early years (approx 30-40) so although it is known as an old age problem, it can happen at any age.
