I have always been one that prefers any firearm to have the furniture that it came with instead of swapping out with plastic regardless how light it makes it. However yesterday I did some horse trading and came home with a Mosin Nagant along with a new in package ATI Arch Angel stock. At first all I was going to do was just pop it on a sale forum and let someone talk me down on price, but for some reason I decided to open the blister packing and take a look. It took longer taking the wood off of the Mosin than anything else, and after one minor area that had to use the dremel on it fit like a glove, and it actually fit to LOP better than the original. How many others been bitten by a NEW look even thou you swore you would never change.

I'm waiting on a M38 .. I was telling myself the same thing but my friend with a 91/30 let me shoot his archangel and it was pretty sweet. His is all 'tacticooled' out with a scope and bipod, but man it was a nice shooter.

I am anticipating shoot this one with the new stock, the last one I owned had wood furniture and it never "KICKED" but had just a nice push. For the last 15 yrs if I wanted to shoot anything I just went out back. Well I screwed up in one way I sold the property and now I have to find another place to go shooting.

I walked into a pawn shop the other day. There was a Chinese SKS in a plastic folding stock and no magazine sitting on the shelf. I had sworn that I'd never get another milsurp that had been stuffed into black plastic, but I just had to ask the price.

$200 out the door, but it wasn't working properly. Frequent FTFs.

I just can't resist a challenging cripple. The gun went home with me.

So I took it home and gave it a Hoppe's No. 9 massage. About halfway through, a chunk of plastic came out of the trigger group - looked like a chunk of sprue - and the FTF problem went away. I put in a compliance op rod and a magazine, and took it to the range.

I liked it.

So my "never again" oath got broken - again.

Pictures or at least an Attempt

Ok if someone can tell me how to take a picture of a firearm that will encompass the entire gun and still be in focus please let me know. Other wise the pictures I have will have to do.

Waldo I have made the same statement more times than I can count. Last trip to my favorite Pawn/Gun shop was the day before they closed doors for good. The only firearm they had left was a Maverick 88 that looked like it was new in the box, and for $100.00 I could not say no. Just changed the choke and on Sat around 8:30 or 9:00 I will put it to the Turkey Shoot test. If it don't shoot it will be gone as quick as when I bought it.
