I'm buying no more AR's until I see a left hand side charger. I was hoping Savage would jump on that band wagon. It's just another tricked out AR that's already been done a million times.
Not only does the Savage AR have a left side charging handle, it's a non reciprocating folding side charging handle

I bought an early S&W M&P10 and it is a great gun but I am disappointed that they seem to have gone their own way on so many components and they don't sell parts. I will wait and see. Hoping for some voluntary industry standardization on bolts, barrel extensions, etc. Of course there is no MilSpec to serve as an example.

I don't know why I bother responding to you.

Competition shooters don't buy marketing. They buy what works. Most of them are shooting either the 6/6.5 Creedmoor or Lapua cartridges. Not the .243/.260. And they're handloading, so I'm not sure what marketing you're referring to. The Creedmoor cartridges have the advantages of a 30° shoulder and a longer neck.

your way of responding is to lecture. I have handloaded the 260 Rem to pass the factory loads of the creedmoor with 140 grain bullets. David Tubbs set records with the 243 years ago and all jumped on that bandwagon. 2-3 years from now they will leave the creedmoor bandwagon for something else. been happening for 100 years

I have pre-ordered one and I am waiting for it to be delivered to an LGS.

When it comes to rifles I only have a vz.58 and AR 15 10''. So this will be my first long range rifle. Any recommendations in that regard? I am thinking about getting .308 WIN version.

I won't exactly have plenty of time shooting it in next couple years and most ranges that are within meaningful distance from my flat are only 400 meters long. I plan to buy a .50 BMG once I have more time for long range shooting. I will be glad for any thoughts as regards Savage MSR 10 Long Range as a first long range rifle under these circumstances.

I have my LGS looking for one for me,figured it would go good with my 12 LRP and maybe then I could get ried of a couple .308s that are in my safe taking up space.

Mine out of the box shot a Very nice group at 200.

What kind of parts are you after? Anything I should be looking for?

Also have one of the new Savage MSRs on order, although it's the .223/5.56 Recon model. Savage has such a good reputation for solid, accurate rifles that I'm super confident that it will live up to our expectations. Congrats on your new addition.

Smejdarek - if it's going to be your GP rifle, I'd go 308.

308 Match Ammo is relatively easy to come by and that will take you out beyond 400m ... :D

308 hunting ammo abounds - it's everywhere :)
