last Sunday i got my first firearm and i em practicing loading & unloading it whit empty shells, the basics.

today i fully broke it down for cleaning & i found out thad wen i cycle the action to load the next shell it hits the end of the shell carrier especially the part thad is made of plastic or nylon and its getting a little bit bang up.:(

question, is this normal wear & tear.

if this is normal i think it needs some redesign.

also does someone know is G36C is legal to own in the US.

hope you can help thx.

A G36C is a fully automatic weapon with (I think) only a 9 inch barrel, and is also foreign made...possession in the US would be illegal for civillians.

It is pretty hard to comment on what you are asking. Are you saying that you are loading shot shells, or practice (cold load) shells? I think you need to try it out with some loads before you can determine how it works.

Shell carrier? Are you talking about a side saddle accessory on the side of your receiver hitting your stock forend? Or is the forend just hitting the receiver? Please be more specific. Also the 870 has remained unchanged in design for over 50 years and has sold more than any other shotguns combined in the world.

more especific

not the side saddle but the carrier in the trigger plate, this is the link to the picture of the trigger plate assembly www.alpharubicon.com/warlord/leo/images/8704.jpg

i em using empty shot shells to practice loading & unloading, wen i cycle the action to eject the one in the chamber the next one enters the receiver & hits the trigger plate assembly all the way in the back, hitting the plastic.

empty shells (hulls) are a lot longer....the shotgun isn't designed to feed hulls that have already been shot.

If you want to cycle empties just for fun and practice, cut them to length, and maybe fill them with paper towels or something like that so they don't lose their shape.

Yeah, its the spent shells. I tried the same thing then I got some snap caps and it works fine.

Once I thought my 870's ejector was malfunctioning. I was using factory winchester 2 3/4" slugs and it wasn't ejecting them. A friend gave me some K.O. shells and it worked perfectly. Turns out the winchester shells were over loaded and bending the brass part of the shells out against the chamber.

Everytime I thought there was a problem with my 870 it turns out that its the shells :D
