How about a NIB Remingtion 700 ADL .270 Laminated Stock $439.88 Beauitful Rifle. I will add a 'GOOD' scope soon. Any suggestions for a scope for a 700 ???.

Try the Burris Fullfield ll. Very clear and bright optics. You can also find them on ebay for $160-$170.

If everything goes as planned I should pick up my new REMI 700 tomorrow. It's doubtful if I get a range report on it until next week. I have heard some good things about the 700 ADL. I hope mine is up to the reputation of the Remington heritage. It has a beautiful laminated Monte Carlo stock. It will be one of the finer in my collection. (I need a bigger safe !!)
Anyone know anything about the break in period for a new bolt action ??

Thanks for the 411 on the Burris scope. E-Bay has them used for as little as $115 + shipping at times. NIB for around $150 and up is what I have seen. What do you know about filling it w/ nitrogen? How long does it last normally?

The Remington 700 is offically in the collection now
I picked up my Remington Laminated 700 ADL in .270 today. Quickly ran an oily patch the the barrel, sprayed a little oil on the bolt, and off to the range. The first four groups of three went as follows: 35 feet = inside a quarter - 50 feet inside a half dollar - 75 feet inside a tennis ball - 150 feet inside a baseball. 
Not bad for just out of the box w/ iron sights. I am sure a scope will be needed for shots over 100 yards. The bolt and trigger are slik. Great trigger all the way back to the break point. The bolt is very smooth in both directions. Needless to say I am very much satisfied.
