A while back I bought my first S&W semi-auto, a compact 6906 9mm. It's a great gun and it gave me the itch to add another Smith to the stable.
The new addition arrived earlier this week. It's a used, police turn-in S&W Model 5903 9mm. The 5903 is a full sized gun with a 15 round mag, yet it has an alloy frame like the smaller 6906. It balances very nice in the hand and points naturally. This one even came with genuine Novak sights.
After a complete tear down, inspection, cleaning, and replacement of all the springs, it was ready for the range.
And the verdict is... It's a winner. Function was flawless. It went through 50 rounds of 124 gr. flat points without a hiccup. At 10 yards, it easily kept all 50 shots in the 10-ring of a B27 target. Not bad for a used cop gun!
Here's a couple pics of the new addition...
