With my tax returns I am thinking of buying a new AK. I have owned a sar1, and a wasr10 in the past. I know its kind of a lottery with century ak's. Both of mine had problems like canted front sights, and mag fit problems. I don't want another one. I am looking for an ak in the $500 dollar range. I have been looking at the Lancaster consulting rifles. Does anyone have experience with those? Would you recomend them? I have also looked at the vectors, but I heard they no longer use chrome lined barrels. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

prolly a used WASR 10 just remember those firearms are made from parts that failed military inspection...

Which means nothing. Military standards are usually much more exacting than those meant for commercial purposes.

I keep wondering to myself, what parts are these exactly? It's a non military receiver. So that's out. I'm pretty sure the barrel is fine. Is it the front sight? The rear trunnion? There's really not much that can get "out of wack" with an AK. Hell, they make them in caves and Pakistan and they still run like a clock.

i say take a look at the yugo undefolders they are great ak's and my favorite in the ak family. i own a mak-90 and it is very nice, and i would recommend them to anyone that wants a good ak varient as well. i got mine for a good price.
