He's using racism and equal protections in his argument. Any chance that this is a winnable argument?

New Jersey man fights state gun permit law all the way to Supreme Court

1/30/17| by Chris Eger

In his filing, Stephens argues that laws in New Jersey dating back to 1694 have discriminated against gun ownership based on race and the remnants of those laws endure today, in violation of equal protection mandates of the Fourteenth Amendment. Stephens maintains the state’s current firearm permit and licensing scheme was originally “passed through its legislature based on ‘Race Discrimination'” and is seeking to have it overturned by the high court.

Second Amendment scholars have long held the legal foundation of gun control was laid in oppressive pro-slavery and later Jim Crow-era laws.

He's absolutely right.
Add Heller and MacDonald and he's got one hell of a case.
I just hope he has the resources and time to follow this all the way up to SCOTUS.
Throw in a Trump appointee to the bench and he could win.

He will need the SC to move that rock. Their gun laws are going in reverse.

I was surprised at how well animus arguments have done in the courts the last few years. It is worth a try.

Even if it fails, it will publicize the racist roots of gun control.

He could crowdsource his lawsuit funding via several different crowd sourcing sites. I'd give a couple of bucks.
