Hello y'all!
I'm itching to get this build done but the parts are going to cost a fair bit so I'll be needing to save up some for my 1700 dollars of Trijicon Optics I'm wanting.
Anyway, long story short, I'm making a AR-15 build inspired by the videogame Starfield. So in the game you can get the Old Earth Hunting Rifle, which is a VSS Vintorez 9x39 sniper rifle AK based rifle. So I'm doing the alternate universe version which is an AR-15 instead. I have a KAK Industry 16in 5.56 1-7 twist rifle gas system barrel already and I ordered a Areo Precision upper and handguard in Kodiak Brown yesterday. This will all be going to be put on my "Retro" OG Aero Precision lower with MBT2S trigger and Fulton Armory A2 stock kit.
Oh yeah it will probably be just as difficult to find IMI 77gr MK262 ammo in 2330 as it will be to find Russian 9x39 ammo.
Makes me wonder if Sierra still exists in 2330 on a different planet... hmm. Maybe I need to custom design some ammo box labels that look future-ish...
So Earth in the game became a uninhabitable dessert sometime in between now and 2330 and now Mars actually has a somewhat small posting living there full time for I think security and research of that part of the solar system. Hmmm maybe MMI, Mars Military Industries? Or would I just want to print Made In New Israel, Mars on the label and call it good?

Also wanting this charging handle for reasons...

This is what I'm wanting ACOG wise. I'll also want to get a dual illuminated RMR piggyback mounted as well

Thoughts? Opinions?

Post a picture of the gun your trying to copy, may help some see how it's going to come together. What other parts you need, I think ar15 discounts has those prisma charging handles for like $20. On the acog sometimes you can find places with the mount included cheaper, never know what acog I'd get it reticle I liked the red chevron when I used to play cod.

Well that's the thing, I don't have a particular gun I'm trying to copy lol. There isn't one in the game, which is why I'm doing this build to make my own, and I'm honestly just throwing some modern and retro inspired stuff together to make what I think is what the in game gun should look like if it was an AR.

I guess think of a Sig Spear LT and a M16 had a baby? Kinda sorta, not really?

Also, that ACOG I posted a screenshot of is exactly what my dad used in the army so I really would like to get that one.
I need a CH and BCG, does anyone make any "Modern" neat looking ones? Like maybe I should get the Aero Precision ambi CH? Or any interesting BCGs or would a nitride name brand one like an Aero Precision one be more than adequate?
Oh yeah I also still need a gas block and tube.

About Sierra in 2330? :D

Nice colors combo!
Lol thanks for the compliment on the colors. I'll post pics when the upper and handguard comes in which might be Sunday.
Also, in the Starfield game, ammo can be purchased in what looks like a Pelican/MTM hybrid box with an insert for the ammo to sit in... maybe I need to buy a small Pelican type case and get my dad to help me make a template to drill holes that will fit the 5.56 rounds in the foam.

I am pretty sure this is it.

To me, it looks very AK-based. Even more, it looks SVD based.

I read closer in the original post, In the post it is made clear that the OP knows that this is the base of the "Old Earth Hunting Rifle." However, he is trying to emulate the look and feel with an AR.

With that goal in mind, I think I would have gone with a long heavy barrel and a wood AR furniture kit.

Not sure which video game it's from, but I built a AR5.7. I had no clue it existed in a game until my 2nd oldest said it looks like the hurricane (I think that's what it was called). It uses the p90 mags, not the handgun mags like some AR5.7's do.

That's in the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from last year. Apparently it's pretty decent in the game.

The mag looks to short to be a 54r, but does look Russian. Are trying to do a smaller cartridge or 1 that's easier to find? Maybe this could be the new norm in AR's........gamer style
The first one is a 9x39 VSS Vintorez which is basically a 7.62x39 necked up to .366 cal that's integrally suppressed. It's the Old Earth Hunting Rifle. The AK-47 is the Old Earth Assault Rifle. The Old Earth Shotgun is Based on a Mossberg 500 and a Ithaca 37 hybrid. The Old Earth Pistol is a 1911 obviously lol.
