I went to the Tulsa gunshow this weekend and brought home a New Bearcat. I've been looking for one for a while. Prices seem to be high for a 22. I've seen them from $300 used up to $500 for an old model. I paid $315 for it, too much in my opinion but the best deal I've found in about 2 months of looking. I bought it for my girlfriend. I have several other 22's and none of them fit her hands. The Bearcat fit her, so it followed us home. I'm looking for suggestions on ammo for it. I don't expect bullseye accuracy from it but it patterns more like a shotgun. I've tried Federal bulk pack, CB shorts, CCI Blazer, CCI Stinger, & CCI mini mag. It shoots the best with the stinger and shorts. It holds about a 3" group with both. Should I give it some break in time? I ran a bore snake through it a few time before we shot it. Should I give it a better cleaning with a brush and patch? I have a single six, 22/45, a 929 H&R, and a Heritage 22. All of which are minute of tin can at 25 yards or so. Is a 3" group normal for the Bearcat or should I keep looking for the ammo it likes?

My New Model Bearcat Will Easily Head Shoot Prairie Rats At 50 Yards.

It will also put 22SHORT and 22LR in the same place at 40 yards. The BEARCAT about which I speak is also the fastest 4" 22 I have ever seen. It is faster than most 20-24" 22 rifles and that is no balony. I do not know why !!!
It routinely is 125-150FPS faster than any other 6" 22 pistols you might put up against it. John Taffin was awestruck by the performance of this diminuative 22 sixgun.

More likely it's the shooter that needs time to break-in on the gun. I'm not bashing your shooting, it takes a lot of trigger time to get used to the small size and small sights on the Bearcat. Put about a brick through it and you'll find the groups shrink dramatically.

I had a set of adjustables put on mine and had it rechambered to .22mag. Love it to death but now I have to go out and get another one to play with in .22lr, probably a stainless one this time.
