I haven't seen these listed before but they appear to be new offerings. .380/9mm

90gr .HPs

147gr "Target" HPs

Ordered some of the 147s to try out. They look interesting.
I have had great results with the 124 FNs, and I hope the 147s Target HPs shoot as good as they do.

Will put up a sample in BDSs PIF thread when I get them.:)

PS: will do my usual chrono tests as well.

I want to make it perfectly clear, the Target HP's are not expanding bullets. They were given a truncated cone design to cut paper a little better and they have a shorter ogive for those wanting to try them in a .357 sig. They fragment into smaller pieces on steel as well.

Thanks for bringing the new offerings to light. Will definitely be looking to order some 90gr - 380acp when I get setup for that caliber.

What's even more of a surprise, at least to me, are the expanding 124 gr JHPs at a great price. I know I'm old but didn't know I was blind too.

I assume these are regular jacketed bullets with no velocity restrictions on them. I'm getting an order ready now for them.

"target" 147 HPs are on the way.

Hopefully I can get some loaded up and make it to the range this weekend to test them!

DudeDog,
I've just switched from RMR's 124 RN Plated to their 147 RN Plated for pistol match use.
I don't use a compensator, so I wanted to drop my recoil down a bit while still maintaining power factor.
FYI, I'm using 3.6 grains of WST.

XTPs have a pointier more conical ogive.

I'm interested in how far the new 90gr RMR bullets will penetrate in gel. I don't pay a lot of mind to expansion claims for .380acp. I would love to see penetration tests into calibrated gel with a real .380 pistol. If they can reliably travel > 12" I'll be buying some. If not, I'll just stick with the RMR flat points and keep buying 90gr XTPs for the serious stuff.

BTW, the RMR 100gr FP are very accurate bullets from my Beretta Pico.

The 100gr RNFP from RMR shot really well for me in 9mm with 5.6 gr CFE psitol.
Light bullets in 9mm can be fun.

Got them the other day.:)
Have some test rounds loaded up but it looks like it's going to rain so no chrono tests. :(
I will test for accuracy at the indoor range and chrono later.

Got some numbers from my first test of the RMR 147s.

The bullets seem to shoot well. I need to do dial in on the loads but the 4.0gr WSF load looks promising. The three that are off are probably my fault.
1" squares.

As a side note the S+B SP primers seem a bit milder that the CCI SPs, slightly less vel from the S+Bs in other tests.

TYPO the CFE load was 3.9 not 3.6, corrected.

Those are some good numbers and some good shooting. I think I am going to stop posting my groupings since they are never that good.

I received some of the RMR 147gr Target HP's from Dudedog to try out. I have not loaded any 147gr in 9mm or 357sig before, so I decided to try them out in 357sig.

As always when I get a new bullet for 357sig, I put the bullets through my cycling and bathroom scale test. The RMR's passed without any issues. I also verify the shape to make sure the ogive will be outside the neck. Everything checked out and I calculated that I can load it with a COL of 1.135" or 1.140" without any problems. I decided to go with 1.140" to match the Hornady HAP's I am also trying out (that is another PIF story).

I have loaded 5 different loads using BE-86 and hopefully I will be able to test them this weekend, and maybe chrono one or two of the loads next week.

These bullets look great in the sexy shape of the 357sig.

I bought some Berry's 147 RN when they were 25% off at Cabela's. This is my first experience with 147's.

I loaded 4 grains of CFE-Pistol at 1.140" which gave me a low of 888 fps and a high of 911 fps, from a 4" Walther PPX.

These shot really well and the recoil was very mild, I like it.

Plus, I'll get 1750 rounds out of a pound of powder.

To be honest the target shown was the best of three I shot with the WSF load.
I loaded a small sample of the other to chrono and more woith WSF to chrono and test for accuracy. I had excellent results with WSF and 124 bullets in 9mm so I was planning on using it if I got good results. (I have 4 lbs of it and partial lbs of the others)
I haven't loaded a lot of 147s in 9mm before so I was starting a bit low with the faster powders. It looks like I need to bump up the Titegroup, Bullseye, HP38 and Universal loads a bit.
I will go back and do some accuracy tests on the others but it looks like the 4gr WSF load will work for me so I will play around with it a bit. Maybe try 3.8 and 4.1 - 4.2.

I tested the new RMR 147gr 9mm HMHP RR bullets in 357sig and did not see any good grouping.

My loads were from 6.5gr to 6.9gr using BE-86 which was probably in the 1000fps to 1100fps range. The best grouping I had at 15yards shooting from a rest was 2.58" using 6.6gr, and then it spread out even more the higher I went. It seems I will probably have to load down to below 15% of max to maybe see a better grouping.

I have a few of the bullets left, so I will have to decide if I want to try a lower charge to see if I get a better grouping, or just test them through the chrono.

Vaalpens,

Rather than shoot them slower, try some faster too. I'm curious how they will do. The 147 HMHP has an even harder lead core than our regular bullets. It was designed to take more abuse.

Jake, thanks for your input.

This is the first time for me loading 147gr in 357sig, so I am treading carefully. I will probably have to chrono my load first before going with a higher charge.

At the moment I am leaning towards trying another powder and then see where it leads me. This is what makes reloading so much fun.
