Anybody have a new mfg 1991 Colt Commander XE 9mm? How is accuracy? I picked one up today and like the way it feels. Put a set of Crimson Trace grips on it because they were there and I thought it would help me. I see the red dot much clearer than the sights. Just hope the gun shoots groups as opposed to patterns. There was also a used one in 45 ACP there. Would like to have it too, but.... I think I am going to replace the polymer mainspring housing with a steel too.

Local ranges available to me are not set up for the disabled. Am interested in other's experiences as to accuracy of this caliber pistol. May be 2 months or more until I get to shoot.

I have typically gone the .38 Super route with my Colt Commander, then added a 9mm. barrel assembly and magazines to make it a 2-in-1 convertible. Never any problems with running 9mm. in the gun and it's a lot less expensive with the ammo. Love the more compact size (versus the full size Government Model), and the lighter weight of the aluminum alloy frame.
