I Finally got my Gold Cup! How nice of Colt to give me two springs for it. One is for lightly powered wadcutters. The other spring is for carry ammo. I have a good friend who is willing to reload 500 rounds for me and I would love to do this.

I am thinking about a 200 grain swc. What works well for you in your 1911? I would like to have some addresses to contact for lead bullets and powder. I have ordered carry ammo over the net for years. I know what I like to shoot and where to buy. But, I have to admit, I know nothing about ordering just lead bullets and powder. To get started, I would just like to know where to go and just what to order. I went to Mid-South Shooter's Supply and looked around but didn't really know what to buy. If it works for you it will work for me. Tell me what you shoot and where to buy it and I'll be mighty thankful!

Leadhead "Hardcast" bullets

Starline Brass

Federal large pistol primers are preferred

I got some Truncated COne FMJ 200 gr. bullets
at Cabelas - my S&W 625 REvolver likes em better
than cast bullets.

I have some Leadhead 200 gr. SWC - profile like the
Hensley & gibbs #68 loaded to 1,025 fps which some
would call a 'carry" load - penetration is not a problem.
Accurate fer sure. in the 1911 as well as my 625 in ACP
or Auto RIm.

Hornady XTP JHP have a good rep for accuracy as well
available in 185, 200 & 230 gr.
