New CZ Varmint .22 LR

I believe Wolf is a brand name owned by an importer. IIRC their match target rimfire was claimed to be made by SK some years ago. They likely have changed suppliers in later years.

Correct, "Wolf" is just a brand name, they don't make anything.
I thought long ago Wolf 22LR were actually made in Russia.

Apparently Wolf Match/Target was Lapua SK Standard and Wolf Match Extra was SK Standard Plus - https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/wolf-22lr-match-target-german-made.1277052/

And now Wolf Match Extra is made by ELEY in England - https://a3gmunitions.com/product/wolf-ammo-22lr-40gr-solid-rn-match-extra/

We love to take European tourists through there to watch their eyebrows climb over the top of their heads. The store also sells clothing and fishing tackle. Who needs a mall when we've got 'em all!

They sell reloading components but alas, explosives are limited to binary stuff like Tannerite.

Test #2 today. Testing something cheaper my nephew won't mind buying, hoping to find something.
I had the CCI-SV of course, but also had Blazer, Fed Auto Match, Aguila Super Extra, so I tested those.

I shot three groups of five with each ammo, then two confirmation groups at the bottom with Blazer.
Both of those had the first shot up, but it improved with the second group. Settling in/different lube?
Anyway, after that I shot it on the 55 yard steel, and it was putting them all together. Then I started
banging the 2.5" paddle on the hostage target at 100 yards and it never missed. I'm happy, have plenty
of that Blazer ammo to get him started. Tweaked the zero for the faster Blazer. My nephew will be here
tomorrow, gonna surprise him. :)

Looks plenty ready for rabid tree rat duty.

Your results look about normal, the $7ish stuff is the happy medium on accuracy. If you want to keep trying others, Eley target and semi auto benchrest outlaw shoot above their cost in mine. Center X does a smidge better as it should, but near double cost.

Blazer ... then two confirmation groups at the bottom with Blazer
I've never tried Blazer, I thought the faster ammo accuracy diminished
In decades past, when I didn't have CCI SV 40 gr LRN (1070 fps), I fell back on Blazer 40 gr LRN (1235 fps) as it produced second best small groups compared to CCI SV.

During the 10,000 round 10/22 and T/CR22 break-in and accurizing, my old stock (Before 2022-23) Blazer consistently produced 1/2"-3/4" 50 yards groups in keeping up with CCI SV 1/2"-3/4" groups with a bit more flyers.

When I exhausted my old stock and bought new lot of "boxed" Blazer 40 gr LRN (H21DA07) along with "loose bulk" Blazer 38 gr LRN (A03EE80) 525 round packs, I noticed new boxed lot was not as accurate as old stock and 38 gr LRN loose bulk pack produced much larger groups - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...nition-comparison.908102/page-2#post-12731537

Here are "new" Blazer boxed 40 gr and loose bulk 38 gr 50 yard groups with 10/22 factory 18.5" barrel - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...nition-comparison.908102/page-2#post-12731537

Now I use "boxed" Aguila 40 gr CPRN as reference as during 10,000 round 10/22 and T/CR22 testing, it consistently produced 3/4"-1" groups so now I shoot Aguila groups at the start, during and end of shooting sessions to validate comparative group sizes of other brands/weights/lots.

On this recent target of start of 47 brands/weights/lots of ammunition comparison I am repeating with KSA bull barrel on 10/22, you can see Aguila groups at the start and end of 50 yard target with tight grouping but before I could do old/new CCI SV and Blazer groups, I realized the thread protector had come loose and started messing up the group size so I plan on repeating the comparison groups - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...nition-comparison.908102/page-2#post-12812234
I am hoping mine will take a liking to Norma Tac 22, as it seems to be available at a reasonable price.
Including TAC-22 along with ELEY Club and RWS Target Rifle.

This guy could spend a lot more of my money if I wasn't careful!

I watched many of his comparison videos and he already cost me plenty for 10/22 upgrade. 😆

Now, I am afraid this guy is going to cost me plenty more with T/CR22 upgrade.

People refer to it as the 611 spring.
That is the spring I use in all my CZ 457’s.
I also add the Area 419 bolt knob to all of my rifles for the price it costs.
https://www.area419.com/product/419-bolt-knob/

If you ever run into some SK flat nose give it a try.
I bought 2 boxes to try and have never seen the stuff since.

These are all 5 shot groups shot at 40M indoor.
20” CZ 457 At-One with Match Chamber.

Before anyone says that it is not available with a 20” barrel or the match chamber we get the European version in Canada threaded 1/2” x 20 tpi.

I thought the faster ammo accuracy diminished when it slowed down,
In general yes, the standard/target velocity does better overall, but nothing is written in stone. Most plinkers, like my
nephew, simply aren't going to buy $80/$90/$100 and up per brick .22 ammo. I only do for matches and match prep.

Apparently Wolf Match/Target was Lapua SK Standard and Wolf Match Extra was SK Standard Plus - https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/wolf-22lr-match-target-german-made.1277052/
One of the guys has a mix-up in his info in that thread. The old Wolf Match Target was the same a SK Standard Plus. The old Wolf Match Extra was the same as SK Rifle Match. AFAIK, there's never been a version known as SK Standard, only Standard Plus.

I have found the claim of old Match Target = Standard Plus to be apparently true as I can't tell any difference in appearance or performance between the two of them when shooting production lots of each from the same period (circa 2016 - 2018 or so).

FWIW, SK Pistol Match tends to shoot anywhere from the same to noticeably better (tighter groups) as SK Standard Plus in several of my CZ and BRNO rifles. I haven't shot any Pistol Match Special, but I've seen several posts from people who say it shoots even better than Pistol Match for them.

Shhhhh..... please keep the above to yourself because I don't want to create any more demand for Pistol Match. :)
