i just purchased a dpms ap4 5.56 rifle.

i also purchased a scope and mounted it on the top rail (i took off the a3 carry handle). the scope is a 4x16-40mm

i am not satisfied with the front sight blurring the view through the scope.

my goal is to hunt coyotes or just bang a gong at 100-400 yards.

does anyone have advice on how to improve my happiness with my scope? different rings? mounts? ect.

pictures would be great.

oh, and if there are twenty other threads just like this then point me there.

thanks.

i am being lazy in the living room and the riffle is tucked away in the garage so i am asking from here...is it easy to change the gas block? is it set on with screws or pins? can i do it or do i need some one trained in the metallurgic arts--a smithy?

most gas blocks/front sights are pinned on, but some use machine screws. either way, its not particularly rocket science to install/remove them. A properly sized punch makes short work of the roll pins.
