Early this fall, after waiting for years for Ruger to produce a factory threaded 77/44, and even using the "ask the CEO" feature to suggest as much, I finally gave up, bought a regular 77/44 and had it threaded:
I'm really happy with how mine turned out, but apparently I gave up on a factory version about 3 months too early as I saw these on Ruger's website today:
https://www.ruger.com/products/77Series7744/specSheets/7417.html
https://www.ruger.com/products/77Series77357/specSheets/7419.html
It looks like they really did it right, using a belled muzzle to allow for a proper thread and a decent shoulder, all while retaining the irons.
Just wanted to toss this out there for anyone who's wanted something similar. You have to handload for best results, but mine is a real hoot with 300gr subs, one of my favorite rifles to shoot these days.
