I have a Remington mod 740 Barrel code XA (12-54) with a four digit serial number. It currently wears a J.Unertl 4X Hawk in a Weaver pivot mount. I hate to break up a pair that has been together SOOOO long, but I'd like to scope her with some non-fifty year old optics. A nice new forward mount/MER combo would not hurt my feelings in the least. I'll be using this old girl once again to load the freezer with pork.
I should mention that I do have the original sights on the gun just incase I "tip the scope" for up close work
