New Gold Cup

Just bought, fairly recent build. No frame rub of note after 250 rounds, very tight, shoots as well as any 1911 I've shot yet (including my Clackamas Kimber). Ran right out of the box with the 16.5# spring. Has a great trigger pull. Colt seems to have quit using the Elliason rear sights, note mine are Champions.








Will be replacing the grips with stag or bone, otherwise, I'm leaving this one alone.

Welcome fellow Gold Cup owner.
I have a newer one and the fit is amazing.
Mine is mostly stock, I changed the grips, added a Wilson Combat mag well and extended slide lock.
Nice new family member!!!!

Very nice. Keep a close watch on the roll pin holding the sight on. Are you running hardball in it?

I replaced the roll pin on my GC after my groups started to go all over the place --- was making me crazy as to what was going on. I used part of a drill bit and the sight has been good for over 10,000 rds. !!!!

Yes, the two guns on the right have S&A magwells, and also Wilson Combat hammers and beavertails. Here is a closeup of them:
