New gun ban, another what if scenario..

Well, we already have NYC, Hawaii, and problems here in CA. But more States are shall issue, and even the USSR had problems with forbidden guns in the Eastern Bloc countries. We should continue to vote them out of office. Until then, I want a 10 Ga, an autoloader in .50 BMG, and a .454.......

I'm afraid I cannot post a response. Suffice it to say that if you dig a hole for your iron, you might as well jump in too. Let's just hope this never happens.

A wonderful sentiment. BUT! Who goes first?

Well if this were to happen it would be many years down the road. (hopefully i will be married) so i guess i will be first in my area, and my wife second:neener:

Politics and rebellion aside. To answer the original question:

Rifle: Colt M16A2 Commando
Shotgun: Benelli M1 Entry
Pistol: Colt 1911A1 WWII repro, customized

If NFA items are a no-no, The M16 becomes a CAR-15 and the Entry becomes a M1 Tactical.

how coincidental that I only own three guns...

gave the others away, you know...

Springfield 1911
Yugo M48 Mauser
Mossberg 500 12ga

I'd be more inclined to trade my Mauser for an SKS, but as someone pointed out earlier, if we get to that point semi-auto rifles are probably verboten anyway.

:banghead:

My P99, my M91/30, and a Browning Citori XS.

Not gonna say I'll bury the rest. If this ban happens, they can go through this and say those who said they wouldn't comply were plotting to commit a crime.

To be honest and as much as I hate to say it - I don't believe that first shot would ever be taken. The guns would be collected without resistance.

Remember Lexington and Concord? Many of the British and many of the Colonials probably felt the same way.

And I guar-an-fricking-tee you that a lotta Texans remember Goliad, and the Alamo, etc. Texas ain't Massachusetts.

Americans don't have a long history, but we do have a history of armed resistance for freedom's sake.

What I suspect would happen is the law would just sit there. The feds aren't stupid enough to go house-to-house collecting iron. They'll wait. If you make rebellious noises or otherwise cause problems, they'll go after you and you alone using this law as the justification.

Well, let's see, now. Frank has raised an interesting topic here.
I think, though I'm not sure , he wanted to know what our favorite rifle, shotgun and handgun are.
However it is a chilling scenario. I'll let my husband decide which rifles and shotguns we keep. I'm gonna keep his Gold Cup. It's always been my favorite pistol anyway, and now I have the perfect excuse to appropriate it.
Now when whatever branch of the government asks where the rest of the guns are... "Oh gee, we were thinking about moving, so we had this BIG garage sale last Spring..." And when they come back with a search warrant... no guns there. They've already been buried in a safe place.
If they try to search w/o a warrant, or if Gov't has given them powers to search w/o a warrant, then...
I'll be 49 next year. My Children are grown and very well grown, right thinking adults. And while I'd really like to see my grandchildren grow to maturity, I'd rather they grow up FREE w/o me than be subjects with me.
I'm going through menopause, you don't want to foxtrot with an armed menopausal woman. It's a REALLY, REALLY bad idea.

22% voted...................

When only 22% of the registered voters showed up to vote in New Jersey during a major election not that long ago, you get your answer.

78% didn't have the time to pull a lever!

If gunny's can't find the time to vote or get active in their communities, they will not stand up and fight for their 2nd Amendment rights, plain and simple.

Those in Jersey that feel differently, form up at the Bravo Gulf Charlie and await instructions! ;)

Holly finally hit the nail on the head. I was essentially asking "what guns do you prefer over all your others?" There are plenty of "What's your favorite rifle/shotgun/pistol?" threads, but none so far that asked the question about all three types at once.

I wasn't expecting all of the "I'll fight the .gov with my last breath as I dig a hole in my backyard" replies.

So, forget the whole new ban scenario. Consider the question to be "If you could only keep one rifle, one shotgun, and one handgun, what would they be?" If you don't like the ban scenario, think of it this way, your mom needs chemotherapy, a heart transplant, a tummy tuck, or whatever. You need to sell most of your guns, except the three you choose, in order to finance this operation. So, what do you keep?

Frank

I'd stock up on ammo and mags. Might even sell a gun or two for more ammo and mag fundage. Might even try to figure out how to modify my thompson to level the playing field a little.

Oh, well, my Kimber Polymer Stainless, my thompson 1927-A1 (my only rifle), and a Mossberg 500 (dont have it yet, damn bills!)
