Do you have a fovorite all around gun? I don't think I could pick a favorite but I have favorites in different catagories.
Plinking Pistol- Ruger Mark II
Plinking Rifle-Sar 1
Hunting Rifle- Mauser (the only rifle I own besides the SAR)
Shotgun- don't have one yet but it's on the list
CCW- XD 40
Home Defense- Ruger P90

I am sure there are other catagories. So what are some of your favorites?

Out of the few that I own, the ones I like to take out and shoot the most would be:
586
Swedish Mauser
20 ga Citori
10/22

To look upon and gaze in wonder at the design and history:
Luger
1911
M1 Garand

To carry every day
Glock 26

Adios

Carry gun-- P7M8
BUG-- Seecamp
Target Gun-- USP 45 Tac
Tactical Rifle-- Bushy Diss
Battle Rifle-- HK91
Shotty-- Benelli M1
Vintage-- M1 Garand
Subgun-- MP5 (Although I don't have it yet)

My 686 is my favorite. Not only is it a great shooting, great looking gun, it use to belong to my dad, and he carried it while working the road as a deputy sheriff.

Of the other guns I own, my favorite shotgun is my desert camo Mossberg 500. As for my rifles, my SAR-1 is my favorite.

Plinking pistol: Para Ordnance P14 Limited
Carry: Para Ordnance P14 Limited
Rifle: Kimber 84M .22-250
Shotgun: America Arms 12ga SXS (clays, birds)
HD: Remington 870 Express Magnum (also my favorite "other" shotgun)

Out of what I currently own it would be my Winchester 94 (30-30). I intend to get a .357mag version by the end of the year so I can shoot one far more often (I don't get to the rifle range often).

Out of my handguns it tends to vary between my S&W 65LS, CZ 75B and Charles Daly 1911 (though right now it may be my, far less accurate, Taurus 85CH).

my favorite rifle is an old Chinese SKS with a beat up stock and my favorite
pistol is a Norinco 1911A1....

I dont need anything expensive or fancy and I prefer using iron sites.

How could you possibly ask me to pick favorites...I'd feel like I was betraying the ones I didn't mention. I only buy guns I love. Ok, Ok, the Citori is my favorite. The other guns already knew that though.

I suppose my favorite all around handgun is my P-1, which I have used for home defense, CCW and fun at the range. A very versatile design in my opinion. My favorite rifles would be the the AK and FAL. I have long experience with both. :)

Which favorite!? :D :D

Honestly . that will always depend on any given gun's uses, performance, applications etc.

For revo ....... count me in for sheer love .. with my Smith M27-2
Semo pistol ..... hmmmm ...... I guess my carry piece .... now P97DC

Long arms .... For bolt it'll be in fact my old .22lr Mauser Obendorfe ... yep . rimfire!!! It is such a lovely piece and a total tack driver.

Semi? ....... SKS is great entertainment and always brings a smile! But then so does AK!! Then perhaps even l1A1 is also capable of ''grin factor'' ...... and even Mini-14 ... has to be enjoyed!

M/L last of all . well apart from cleaning after . enjoy the ''cannon-like'' feel of my old repro 2 band musketoon in .577 .... BoooMM!:p :)

Sorry to be pedantic and not answer your question properly!

''Favorite'' .......... yep ... at least half of em!

In a short-short

Like most, I have favorites for different applications. Too
complicated to list each gun independently; but when it
concerns handguns, I like both revolver's and semi-autos.

Home defense shotguns is a different matter; as I prefer
the Remington 870 (12 gague) Marine Magnum to all else.

Rifles is subjective, dependent on use, range, weapons
performance, and caliber.

Hmm..mine are not so lengthy!

Favorite is a series 70 MKIV .45 auto that my Father bought in 1976 when we lived in Moosecreek, Alaska. I got one shortly after falling in love with his. I know I carried it more, shot it more and for sure CLEANED it more than he...so it was natural when he passed on to Whatever Lies Next, that I asked for it. Lets say that it is my Home Defense gun.
CCW: a 13 year old customized LW Officer's model.
Plinking: The same Officer's with a Ciener .22 conversion unit.
Rifles: Well, as Ala Dan said...that depends on what I need it for. My favorite GP gun is the Automat Kalishkinov. My eyes are not great and I seldom hunt four legged varmits. My current Saiga is in a safe in the midwest(with the second Government model mentioned above, more of a early 80's IPSC tuned creation now).
And I am feeling the need for another shoulder gun to 'Have With'. There is a Vegas GunShow at the end of the Month, and an extra payday too......hmmm, think that means...New Rifle!
Shotguns: Do not have one now, though I had alot of experience with the 870 over the years. Suppose that is my favorite.

Favorite is without doubt my '44 No4mk1T sniper.

Fave pistol is my trusty, ugly, clunky big ole' P89DC. Always go bangee, hits what I point it at. Running on 7,000+ rounds, no breakie yet.

Favorite gun that I don't own and never will is the Bren Mk3.

The Kimber Custom Eclipse II I purchased as a birthday gift for Susan takes the cake. It's a superbly finished, completely reliable, and unbelieveably accurate handgun.

My S&W Bodyguard .357 has to come next. I find no end of fun in its accuracy, and many a stout man has winced a little seeing me shoot full-power loads through it, taking bowling pins at 25 yards easily and consistently. It goes everywhere with me.

Rifle -- Savage 99
Aha ... so you have a 99 then Mike .. nice rifle and I'd probably agree in many ways .. was lucky enough to win one coupla years back at gun raffle - in .243 ... it's the 99C which I believe no longer made.

I do like mine immensely.

Guns? You mean this is a guns forum? I thought it was about off-roading!

(No favorites, I love all my "children"!)
