I'm 16 yrs old my finances are limited im thinking of using a rem. 700 adl in .243 basicly for deer at maybe out to 200 yds. I'm looking at a rem. 700
bolt on gun broker. I prefer a bolt, I heard bolt actions are more accurate vs. semis.

auction is for $200.00 for synthetic stock, nothing fancy. Is this a good price? What kind of scope for $150.00 would u suggest. What kind
of accuracy can I look for at 200 yds.

If you can get a Rem. 700 for that price, you're doing well. The .243 is a bit light for whitetail, but the rifle for that price is worth buying.

I think that a 700 remington would be an excellent choice for the following reasons:(1) It is very accurate.(2)at 200 yards you should have essentially no drop if you sight in at about 1.5 inches at 100yds.(3)low recoil.(4)With a 100grain bullet it will do the job on deer.(5)you can use 75 grain bullets for varmits. My love for this caliber stems from the fact that I could shoot it all day and not have a sore shoulder.Since it is a remington 700 be careful when unloading. They have been known to discharge when you close the bolt especially if you have tried to adjust the trigger; leave that to experts.Regarding the scope,I like a 4-12variable but that is just my never to be humble opinion. As to brand let your pocket book be your guide.

At 200yds you could use a red-dot too (Bsa makes a decent one.) if you want an inexpensive site.

A Rem 700 for that price is a STEAL. It's a $500+ gun.

.243 should do fine with heavier bullets. Try Barnes X bullets. Solid copper, more effective than lead.

hey man that happend when your trigger assembly is dirty. if you clean , there will be no problem.

Ain't a deer made that will not succumb to a well placed hit from a .243 Win, especially if you're shooting Nosler Partitions out of it. My Dad had 13 straight one shot kills on Nebraska mulies with his.

Remington 700's have a reputation for being accurate.

If the magna boomer 44 magnum is good for whitetails at 100 then the 243 is certainly good for whitetails at 200 (maybe a little more :) )
