I purchased some new Hi-Vis sights for my Sig 320 45acp FS. I took it to the gunsmith at the LGS to put on and I am not happy with the way it looks. The front sight appears to stick out over the end of the barrel. In addition, it could cause the gun to snag on something. These are the sights that Hi-Vis says are the correct ones, I bought them directly from them.

Do you think I am making a mountain out of a mole hill by being dissatisfied with this?

I am thinking about first contacting Hi-Vis. Let me know your thoughts

Was that sight made specifically for the 320? Unacceptable, poor fit to the gun by Hi-Vis, or horrible installation at the LGS -- hopefully they didn't do anything but push out the old and push in the new.

According to Hi-Vis, it is the correct one. It even says that on the packaging

I'd contact Hi-Vis and send them these photos. Might just be that a defective sight got out, happens to the best of them on occasion. If they think that is OK, then I'd suggest avoiding them in the future!

Shoot it, so at least you'll see if you need any front sight height adjustment.

Then get a sight from Dawson. Best front FO's out there. Warrens are nice as well, but I don't recall them coming in as many different heights as Dawson.

I would call the sight manufacturer and ask about it. It looks like an installation issue to me though.

I'd call the company and send a pic. Might be the wrong front sight ended up in the packaging.

I've known of that happening even with a larger, longer established sight company. A friend of mine ended up getting the wrong front sight twice, mistakenly packaged at the company. It happens.

Might also be that the front sight being made for that model might've been based upon an earlier slide profile, and the gun company has made a minor change in the slide profile without the sight company yet knowing about it.

Call and see if it's an easy "fix" by getting a new front sight sent.

Agree something's wrong, looks terrible and looks like it will be knocked off doesn't fit the gun

Yeah, that looks like crap. It DOES look like it could get ripped off in a fast draw snag situation. I really don't like the way it hangs out in front of the muzzle either. I'd return it and choose a different make.

I met the CEO of Hi-Vis a few years ago in a hotel bar. He noticed I had an FNH hat on and started a conversation. It's totally irrelevant to the topic though.

I guess after I started buying guns with night sites, I lost interest in fiber optic. They do work nice though in bright light.
