Is the Apex Tactical carry kit still worth installing on one of the newer (allegedly) re-designed non-safety versions of the shield? The trigger pull on my gun out of the box is about 6.5#. My accuracy the first time out was a little poor, but I'm guessing I just need to devote some serious practice time to it like my 642 if I want to achieve any reasonable accuracy.

I do love what a soft shooter this gun is for its size, I just wish I was more accurate with it...and the trigger reset seems a little longer than the reports I've read indicate it should be (sometimes I find my finger leaving the trigger face before I feel the reset).

I bought a Shield when they first hit the dealer shelves. Mine had a 7-1-2# trigger out of the box. I installed just the Apex sear. Nothing else. The trigger pull dropped to a crisp 5-3/4#. Perfect for me to carry.
I have seen a lot of ugly trigger jobs on the Shield as a carry gun with an overuse of Apex parts. If you are really into smoothing the trigger feel you will need to remove the rear sights and do some work on the striker block or dry fire the heck out of your gun.

this video will explain

I did none of that as mine is a carry gun and I suspect smoothness of trigger will not be in my thought process if I never need to put that gun to it's intended purpose.
