hello everyone

Hello everyone. My name is Martin and I am 23, from Delaware. I started shooting the beginning of this year (2009). My interests fall around handguns and military rifles of current day. I have an interest in serving in the military in the future, and have a great respect for those who are and have served our country. I do not own a firearm, and rent when I go to the range (about once a month), but Glocks are still my favorite. I was never raised with firearms in the house, and I believe that firearm ownership means responsibility and training.

Howdy from cheesehead land.

I noticed a few informative threads on here and had to join. I was minorly involved in shooting several years ago and recently started getting back into it. I have a few pistols, and am looking at building a rifle. I hope to get some input from these forms.

Im in Central Wisconsin, and would love to meet more people that enjoy shooting. Especially south paws, believe it or not they did not drown us all at birth.

still Armed in West Aust

G'day From West australia.
My name is Paul, I am a hunter/shooter of many years as well as a member of our local S.S.A.A. club [ Sporting Shooters Association of Australia] I own a Brno model 2 .22rf, Slazenger .22 Hornet [ SMLE mk3 action] Savage 23B 25-20 improved, Ruger 9644mag, Greener 12gauge GP gun on a Martini action, in handguns; Hammerli 120 s/shot .22, Baikal sl .22, Norinco TT Olympia .22 and Ruger SuperBlackhawk .44mag. Most of my hunting in the area is for Rabbits, Foxes and Feral Cats while a couple hours travel gets me onto Pigs and Goats. I reload for my centrefires using mostly ADI powders, which work very well and also cast my own slugs for the .44.
I am enjoying 'The High Road' site and find it most informative. Keep up the good work!,

Hi everyone, Joe here in Arlington, Texas. I've been an avid gun lover all my life, and gun collector(I'm an old guy now, lol). Love the forum. Wulllll, I say all my life. I took a 20 year hiatus from my gun enthusiam to pursue other hobbies like Ham Radio, and metal detecting, but I've always been pulled back for my love of guns.

Hello all
I enjoyed many posts here and have picked up valuable info. I thought it would be a good idea to join. I like small guns for conceal carry, hence the name. I especially like the 380 round, which has been hard to locate recently. I have several of the NNA mini revolvers up to a Glock 19. I have CC for 25 years in a variety of situations.

Hello Everyone,
I'm in Wyoming and got into reloading mostly for the economics of it. both my sons are now old enough to go hunting with me so I bought them both Ruger 7mm mag.'s then noticed the price of the shells lol. Anyway we have gotten into a family activity of regularly shooting on the weekends since it is so open here a "range" isn't really required, we just found a really nice box canyon to shoot up into. it blocks the wind and keeps people from wandering into our line of fire.
As a family we own 2 7mm Rem. Mag, 2 Walther P22's, A 1964 Winchester 264 Mag, (mine) 2 22 revolvers, 243 savage (wifes), an xd9 and an xdm9 and also a newly acuired DPMS Panther 223 as well as a mosberg 500 12 Ga that we shoot trap with to develop the kids reaction times.
We have a blast and enjoy the time we spend together, keeps the kids out of trouble and gives us something to stay connected with them. Besides has any of you ever seen a 100 lb 12 yr old shoot a 7 mm? I swear his shoulder blades clacked together the first time he shot it, but all he said was "This is awsome I love it let me shhot some more" Thank god for my Dillon 550 lol

A Really New Member

Stumbled onto this site looking for info on a couple Gerber Knives that I own.

Let's see, I'm retired AF, retired CivSvc, and retired! Got a son that retired from the AF last year as a Shirt and another one that will retire this year as a Special Agent (OSI). We all served in combat areas, theirs in the desert, mine in SEA.

Collect knives (nothing expensive - I'm retired) and attempt to make them as well. Have given my son's several of my guns already but still have a couple.

I'm a very firm believer in God, guns, and guts and the right to same.

Originally from CA, now claim AL as home - been here 30 years this summet.

Hello to everyone.

Hello everyone

My name is Bryan, I am 26 years old and am an avid shooter. Going to the range and shooting milk jugs filled with water and food coloring is one of my favorite things to do! I also enjoy shooting paper targets, but nothing is better than turning a milk or water jug into a fountain of water and shredded plastic.

The two guns I own are a Winchester model 1897 12 gauge shotgun and a Sears Roebuck and Co. Ted Williams model 100 lever action 30-30. Both are "classics" and will continue being passed down through the family.

I also enjoy shooing my father's Kimber Custom TLEII, such a sweet 1911!He also has a Rock River Arms 5.56mm AR15 and a custom Mossberg 590. They are all extremely fun to shoot! I would suggest to anyone wanting a 1911 to go with Kimber or Ed Brown's custom creations, they are the best on the market not only in my book. Just look on the back covers of (insert tactical gun magazine of your choice) and 8 out of ten will have a Kimber 1911. That is no coincidence!

My next two purchases are going to be a Kimber Custom TLEIISS (Stainless Steel) and then either an AR10 style rifle or bolt gun like the M24 chambered in 7.62x51 since you can also shoot .308 rounds through it, but it doesn't work the other way. You cannot shoot a 7.62X51 through a .308 chambered rifle.

My main hobby is researching different guns, new and old, so even though I am a "youngster" to alot of people here I can hold my own in the forums, at least I hope!:D

hi, my name is michael and i found this site while looking for info on mosins. i turned 18 on may 3rd and decided to buy "my" first gun. i have been a gun enthusiast since i can remember i love modern weapons as well as old ww2 guns. my favorite weapon by far would have to be the FNH mk16 and i hope to buy one soon and maybe some day use it as part of socom. i am going to join the military as soon as i find out how and where to sign up for the army special forces.(any help would be appreciated) i currently am the proud owner of a finnish m27 and hope to own alot more soon.i also like to hunt and hopefully will be going with my dad and uncle on a 3 month hunting trip in argentina soon.

My primary interest is in shotguns. The break of dawn while bird hunting is one of the most enjoyable experiences that I can think of. Raised around and with guns, and always a gun enthusiast, but got away from it during middle years. Nostalgia is pulling me back to a much simpler and purer time in my life.

I was raised to respect guns and to recognize the responsibility that comes with gun ownership. I like it when my neighbors know that I am a gun enthusiast and feel more secure because of it and not in spite of it.

I have read posts on TheHighRoad.org site before joining. This site appeals to me because I believe there are too many immature "Yahoo's" out there that give guns a bad name. The members of this site appear to be much more knowledgeable, responsible and better grounded than some of the other boards I have read.

Hi everyone...I am new to this forum. I live in Moline, IL.

I do work for a Weapons Manufacturer, but I will not disclose who that is. If you pay attention to my posts, you might be able to figure it out. Please keep in mind that I do have a slight preference when it comes to certain weapons, but I do promise never to steer a person knowingly in the wrong direction.

As for now, I am just here to maybe help people out with their AR questions that they might have. I am not here to spam...only to help. :)

Thanks,
Heath

Newbie intro

I am new to shooting, live in a part of the country very unfriendly to 2nd Amendment rights, and have a wife who would REALLY be upset to know I have started buying rifles, but there you have it (I cant resist). I have been a military buff since I was a kid (I'm 44 now), but after Heller last summer, I decided to start owning and shooting rifles. My main interest is in Milsurp. Because of local laws :banghead:, I can only own rifles with a 5 round capacity. I own a Savage Mark II BV .22, a Remington 798 in .243, and a Mosin Nagant 91/30 1929 Hex Izhevsk. I will be travelling down to the Fort Worth Gun Show in a week, and will have my eye out for a decent Swedish Mauser m38 or m96.

Hey guys

I'm 21, and have been shooting for years. I love shooting and everything that goes with it!

I live in Wa state near Seattle, but you would be surprised how free we are with respect to the 2nd amendmant (for being such a left wing area).

I get extremely passionate :cuss: when it comes to guns and gun rights, I truly feel a little bit of hearty debate can clear anything up!

Glad to finally be here :D

My Intro

I’m Niel, 54, from just outside St. Louis, MO. I have been a “Lurker” here for about a month and find the info very informative.

I bought my first gun (Beretta 32 Tom Cat….which was replaced with an Inox version already by Beretta) in November 08’ quickly followed by a Taurus Judge, a Beretta Neos 22 target pistol and a Remington 870 self defense Shotgun. (I am now looking for a 45) I took a pistol course and then got my CCW.

I started down this pass partially because my business takes me to some bad parts of town and one of my customers and 2 of his employees were shot in a robbery attempt 9 months ago. 2 were killed. I also saw how those that were armed had little trouble after Hurricane Katrina.

I had only 2 previous gun experiences; 42 years ago in Boy Scouts I learned how to shoot a rifle at Boy Scout Camp (do they do that anymore?) and then about 10 yrs ago I went to a hunt club with a business associate to shoot trap and skeet.

I have an out door range with 15 rifle stations, 20 pistol stations, shot gun patterning station, and separate skeet and trap facilities 15 min’s away….best part is they only charge $3 per hour for each including targets and 25 clays for skeet or trap.

Still very much learning how to shoot and handle the guns in different situations, different ammo options, cleaning them, etc.

Looking forward to learning more from all the folks here.

Hello!

Hi there,

Been reading THR for a while and thought I'd say hi and post a picture of my hardware. The 1911 is the most recent one; it will soon have a Surefire X400 attached to it. The SIG was my first gun and has about 2.5K rounds through it (it's a 9mm with the DAK trigger). It has never failed. Not once. Quite happy with it. The J-frame is the go-to gun, and the Walther P-22 has been a great way to teach my son (and mother!) to shoot. The NAAs serve their purpose despite (because of?) their small calibers.

Best regards.
