New guy

I am a 68 year old retired airline pilot who grew up in Idaho and have always hunted and shot trap. I have inherited my grandfathers guns, my fathers guns, plus my own. I am a life time member of the NRA and a member of the Wildlife Committee of Washington (Kenmore). I currently have gotten into varmint shooting and think it is about my speed

Hey all, I'm Matt from Columbia SC. In the Marine Corps doing a stay in Charleston for now. Love the smell of black powder and gun oil, and am a sucker for the classic wood rifles but could just as easily fall in love with the black rifles. Mostly do plinking around, but looking to break into hunting or some real shooting soon.

Hello, been a long time 'lurker', finally got up the courage to post :neener:

I'm probably one of the younger members on here, so all of my terminology might not be correct, but I have been a long time shooter.

I hope to be an active member on here and make some at least half-way intelligent posts :D

hey everybody,

Been a lurker for a while here so I figured I'd finally join up. I'm 20 yrs old and have been shooting all of my life. I'm almost 21 so I've been looking into some pistol options for a CCW and hoping to squeeze all the information out of you guys! Seems to be a great forum and tons of knowledgeable and friendly folks.

Cheers,
Lazer

Hi Everyone,
I finally have my CCW (long story) and License (to purchase) for Nebraska. I have a nice Ruger P85, MKII, 10/22 and a rusty old 12 gauge shotgun. Now that I finally have my CCW I have been surfing the web to learn about pistols and....I discovered this wonderful site. I look forward to learning more about everything gun related.

Hello fellow firearm enthusiasts -

I'm an early 20s enthusiast that recently got back into firearm ownership after a year and a half without. Very pleased to once again be armed, carrying and taking frequent trips to the range.

Originally born in Switzerland to a Danish family(funny eh?), but have lived in America since age 5, am a full citizen and I am very thankful for that.

Howdee all,
I have been lurking for a while and decided to post up.
I like venison; alot. :D Been shooting and hunting since I was 10. Recently got into the AR platform with both the .223 and .308 , I also do some reloading and bowhunting.

Hello

Firearms / edged weapons enthusiast, CCW advocate, and firm believer in 2nd Amendment rights and individual liberty here. I’m a social liberal and fiscal conservative; friends tell me this odd combination makes me a Libertarian, but I don’t classify myself as such.

I’m originally from Washington State, but the USAF has taken me to all kinds of interesting places over the years. My current ‘home of record’ is near Columbus, Ohio. My current mailing address is in Iraq.

My firearms collection is relatively modest: a Glock 22 .40 cal, a S&W J-Frame .38+p, and a Mossberg 590A1 12 gauge. I’ll probably add some variety of 16” AR-15 to the mix this summer, depending on what’s in stock at the local shops.

Howdy From Tucson

Howdy from Tucson,

I have been looking at the good advice and information available on this forum for a couple of years and finally decided to join. I enjoy reloading and have recently upgraded my equipment to allow for better handloads. I shoot Lever Action Silhouette, Cowboy Fast Draw, SASS Cowboy Shooting, and I'm getting ready to try High Power Silhouette. I love buying, selling, and trading firearms. Right now, I am down to only one pistol but I've recently added a few rifles to my stable.

Looking forward to contributing when possible.

Regards,

Lorenzo Rojo

Hi all, I am a firearms enthusiast from Kansas City, MO. I am 25, and I have only been into firearms now for about a year and a half (my parents were adamently against them growing up), but I think that my passion for them grows by the day. My main interest is in tactical guns/shooting. I just recently have been finding out about practical shooting, and I am hoping to join an IDPA/IPSC club in the coming months.

I currently own a WASR AK-47, FN Herstal FNP9, Glock 21, Walther P22, and a Hi Point 995 Carbine (laugh, but they are a ton of fun and cheap to modify :D)

New Here

Hello I am Tyler. I am new to this forum, but am a member of another gun related forum, and have heard many wonderful things about this site.

I am a younger gun owner, (I am in my 20's). I am interested mostly in handguns, because due to my pacemaker, I am unable to fire rifles and shotguns. So I guess I would be considered recoil sensitive.

I own a M&P 40 full size and a Taurus PT-22.

I'm an old hand here, but stopped posting for some years because I just didn't have the time. My old log-on is gone, but I think my I posted under Kodiak Keith or some variant. I was sort of the board bear "expert" back in the day.

With the new regime in charge, I feel the need to become active in gun politics again.

I like antique arms, hunting, wildlife photography (I'm not very good, but living where I do gives me plenty of chances to get it right, eventually).

This link is to some of my bear and wildlife pix and video. Some are better than others - the two vids with "sunny" in the title are my favorites, a mix of the best clips and photos over the last two years. http://www.youtube.com/my_videos?feature=mhw5

Nice to be back!

Tom here. Been hunting for about 15 years solid. Deer, Elk, and Bear mostly. Got my first Turkey last year. Own handguns, rifles, shotguns. Just started reloading this winter, and about to go shoot the first load I've worked on. Worried about our RKBA. Gonna open my wallet for the right candidates for the first time this year.

Howdy. I'm a recently (unwanted) retired guy who just had my firearms interests change on me. Previously I was only interested from a general usage standpoint. I live on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula, and the outdoor possibilities are higher than any state other than Alaska I guess.

But after an unfortunate medical retirement, I'm taking up shooting as a hobby these days. I can't get around that well these days, and this is about as outdoors intense as I can get.

My main guns of interest are the M1911 family, as well as high powered & varmit rifles. In other words, distance sharpshooting. And to be honest about the pistols? The 1911s are just a pref. I like any weapon that's well made.

Hello all! I have been posting a bit over in the rifle forum and I found this thread, and realized I had not made an introduction yet.

I am George from a small town in IL, 23 years old. About to graduate college at the AAS level, with my major being automotive service. I work M-F at a body shop as a mechanic and in my other free time I am a volunteer firefighter/emt-b.

Recently I have been getting more interested in finding out in more detail about gun rights and laws, and starting to do what I can to get our rights back in IL.

I have a Mossberg 500 I use to trap shoot mainly with my girlfriend's dad. I bought the gun from a great friend of mine who is a chaplain on our fire department. I also have a .22 "High Standard" pistol from the 1950s. My dad has several smaller guns too.

Without going into details, I am looking to expand my rifle and handgun collection. After what I have observed so far in this forum, I am definitely going to use this as a resource. You have a great bunch of people, and everyone who has replied to me has been very respectful and non-judgemental, and very detailed and helpful.

Thank you!
