Hahaha, many thanks for the warm welcome. I've been on milsurp kick lately, so I guess I'll transition to 21st century firearms and calibers when my eyes go bad!

Rod here, hailing from central Pennsylvania. I've had firearms ever since I came of legal age for owning them. Interests are all across the board, from black powder, to old west and military collectibles, and from self-defense, to NFA weapons. Primarily, I will most often be seeking opinions and advice, but perhaps as time goes on, I can become a more active participant.

We are delighted to get to know you, Rod. Thank you for checking in. It sounds like you are our type of people. Please check out the THR primer and take the scenic cruise through the various sections to see what is up for discussion. I hope you enjoy!

Hi all. I'm Gork. Currently from SE Michigan. Looking to move to northern Michigan within the next few years. I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, general woods bumming, and painting mini's. As far as guns go. If it goes bang, I like it. Current favorites is a 1969 made High Standard model 106, and a 1990 made FIE tz75. Thanks for reading.

Welcome to THR, @Gork10! We are glad you found us, and it sounds like we have much in common. Have a look around, check out the THR primer and make yourself comfortable. You can learn from other people's mistakes so you don't have to make them all. By the same token, you may be able to save someone some frustration, so we are happy to have new experience and wisdom in the group.

Welcome to the forum from Texas!

Hello boys, I'm baaa---aaaack!

Been into guns all my life. Became a gun owner over a decade ago, while I was working an entry-level job and living with my parents. Moved out and ammo for range trips was phased out of my budget. Needed exercise and needed skills for inside the 21-foot rule, so I started martial arts. Been doing that pretty extensively, which explains why I haven't posted on here in 7 years.

I've recently moved from WA to TX (mainly because of gun laws). Found a good martial arts school first. But now I've moved up in my career to where I can afford range trips again. Need to find a good range. Figured I'd come back to this forum, too. I always did like it here. It was just too expensive, because I'd want to go shooting or buy a new toy whenever I was on here before.

Welcome back, Skribs. It sounds like you are in a better place. Our hobbies seem expensive, but it is not difficult to drop $100 for a restaurant meal for two, so it's all relative. Thanks for checking in.

Hello from ak
Joined up, see what's floating around. Maybe pick up few reload ideas, tricks. Pass some perhaps
270win axis
30-06 rem 700 bdl
Marlin 45/70
Contenders, barrels-
204 ruger
22 hornet
375jdj
Reload all but, being selective what I shoot lately. Powder, primer selections where I purchase from are low and items currently in stock are not what I use

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
Hello everyone, I'm going by Tatonkaowachee, ( Buffalo Wolf ), my malamutes name. I'm a retired tinknocker local 27, currently working on Joint Base MDL as a range safety officer. Thanks JC

Welcome, Tatonkaowachee. Glad to have you on board. I like to suggest a pass through the THR primer in the general gun discussions section to get a feel for the place. Then just check things out at your own pace. We can use your expertise.

Howdy!

Lots of good info in the reloading forum, even for those of us who have been at it for a while. (1995 for me, I’m a beginner compared to many of the reloading residents :).) There are some seriously knowledgeable folks on rifles, handguns and shotguns as well.

Have fun, don’t be afraid it ask questions and welcome aboard.

Stay safe.

Hello, northeast Oklahoma here. I was a member here many years ago (I think when it started.) No idea what my user name might have been. I used to be very active in IDPA and three gun, but motorcycles and writing some local history took me away for a while. I have several Glocks, also like revolvers and I have a 1911 as well. Plenty of shotguns and rifles.
All I had was a .22 rifle and a 20 gauge Remington 1100 until the first assault weapons ban. That woke me up.
