thx for the welcome guys.

naw, i dont have any pics of the krag, actually i do, but just standard camera pics (35mm).

it was my fathers and it was passed to me.

i have seen a few like it at the gun shows, except they had the full length wood forestock. mine looks more like a modern hunting rifle, except for the side trap door.

i rarely shoot it.

i did notice that lee marvin has one in the movie death hunt, lol.

Hi everyone, I am new to guns and to this site. I hope I can learn a lot, because guns and shooting sports are quickly becoming a huge addiction for me!

Thanks

lurker finally saying hello.

this is a great site. i am relatively new to firearms and have learned a lot just by surfing THR.

thanks!

I'm a long time gun activist/owner. My first gun was a Marlin 22lr semi, still have it. I was a corpsman w/USMC in the late 80's. became an RN after that and mainly worked in emergency medicine and intensive care since then. Currently have out grown my gun safe with everything from a single shot 22 to hk91, jennings 25auto to fnp 45. LOVE TO SHOOT! and am an avid CCW holder.

I found THR when looking for comments on the Kel-Tec P3AT. I found lots of good advice here. I live in SW Florida, 2 miles from a friendly range where I get to shoot often. I would shake your hand, but after 50 rounds through the little KT, that might hurt a bit :)

G day yall!
Call Me "Nathan"
I've been interested in guns since jr high, lucky me the teacher never caught me drawing guns and sketching swords in class:neener:
My dad is a fence sitter on the subject and, has some dubious opinions about the "cold dead hands" remark, and the reasonableness of keeping firearms for defense. He did however teach me firearm safety, redcoat line firing tactics, leading a moving target, a few things he learned in the army, and proper way to pull a trigger.
And he didn't flip when I admitted that the long locking box in the garage was a rifle case with an actual rifle in it (his words “you mean it shoots real bullets?).
That was an M9130 mosin nagant, I didn't tell him the spare barrel for my 20 guage mosberg 500 was also in the box. Anyhow, I've since moved the rifle out of his garage and into my place, But I’d like to store at least ONE weapon off site. Ah well.
The mosberg is my home defense gun, loaded with slugs (the short barrel has no place for a choke) bought it from big 5 as a combo with a long and short barrel (24 and 18 inches I think) So with the pistol grip stock and the cheap red dot sight make it a nice home defense tool. I made a cable lock for it, with a large combination padlock I can operate in the dark.
My first gun was a north american arms 5 shot 22 winmag revolver
Got a pocket holster and it makes me real safe at night around the house. Sometimes I almost forget I have it. Haven't accidentally gone anywhere with a loaded gun yet. Thank God.
Looking to expand my collection, but bills come first. (I know what 'm doing with my economic stimulus check! tehehe)

I live in california, behind enemy lines :cuss: so no “assault” weapons for now.

I produced a few gun rights videos using audio from some old radio ads and a lotta banners I came across.
See em here
And made up some business cards with some "liberal" gun rights groups (for educating my liberal friends) not all the groups are liberal but they include immigrants, blacks, gays jews and women. As well as a couple Democrat pro gun blogs. Have a gander...

I may fade in and out, or just lurk every now and then. Real life takes precedent ya know.

long time reader. finally got "un-lazy" and signed up to post :)

got my first rifle @ age 8 and first pistol at age 13.....been in love ever since. :)

currently trying to expand my semi-auto pistol collection...currently just have a P226 w/ XS big dot sights and about to pick up either a M&P compact or a P2000 for CCW (both in .40). (still saving for a high end 1911!)

Hi there. Just got turned on to this site and decided to join. Seems like a cool place.

I've been shooting since I was in the single digits and love it. Just now decided it was time to get back into it more and start buying my own arsenal!

I'm also one of the 3 people at UC Berkeley that isn't anti-gun control. Lets just say that makes for some interesting discussions in my classes :D

Greetings to all from the great State of Washington. I am an old codger, over 65, retired, and have been shooting since just after the discovery of black powder. At one time I shoot BP in Civil War Skirmishing, was introduced to the M1 Garand by Uncle Sam, learned to shoot a shot gun at the age of seven by my true Uncle, and have been involved with them ever since. I reload most of my ammunition except shotgun but I am working on that. Got my Grandson involved too so it should be interesting. Thanks for your indulgence

Fresh meat here

Name is Bob. Like to shoot anything and everything.
If it goes BOOM count me in..

Name is Paul. Spent 5 years in the Marine Corps and the last two years in law enforcement. Didn't take up shooting as a hobby until two years ago.

Hi my name is Edwin

Hello,
I Joined on the First of April, and this is my first post.

I am a big fan of the 1911 and the AR-15. But all guns make me happy. I am an NRA member, and I target shoot frequently. I have recently taken up hunting.

I am excited to become a active member of this community.

My name is Patrick, I am new to THR. I was in search of info on trigger jobs and I kept finding myself back here. I live in Northern Michigan and work as a forester. I love the outdoors and love shooting sports.

I am a big fan of muzzleloaders, older military weapons but I probably spend most of my time with .22 LR's. You just can't beat paying 9.99 for 500 rounds.

Howdy all,
My name is Scott, i live in western Montana. Have reloaded for rifles for many years and really enjoy shooting. Have just started loading for a revolver
(.357) Lots to learn yet but it sure is fun. This is one awesome website and i know that any questions i may have in the future will be answered by the members here on THR.
Thanks and the best to all of you, East Fork

noob

Hi ya'll;

Stumbled across this board... (stumble across a lot of stuff anymore it seems)... looks like a good place to sit a spell an' jaw about guns an' shootin'. Hope to be an active, positive addition to your community here.

Please allow me to introduce myself

I'm a man of wealth and taste.

(OK, maybe not so much wealth)

I have been sitting on the fence for years about learning to shoot, and buying a firearm.

This past week, I finally took the first step, went to a gun range near my company, and took a basic handgun class, which included an hour of rangetime -- I fired both the Glock 17 and the S&W 642.

My interest is in CCW now, and I like the 642 -- though I'd like to try the 640 as well, and see how that feels in comparison to the 642.

This gun range offers one-day CCW permit classes on Saturdays, and my next kid-free weekend, I'm going to take it.

I decided to join this forum for advice and a different perspective.
