So I took the advice from other folks and got the $18 LED at Walmart, with the 3 watt LED. Nice light, pretty darn bright (not quite a Surefire, but much cheaper).

So I always wanted to try a light on the Mossberg, but good ones have been too expensive - but not now! I made some clamps from HDPE and strapped it on the shotgun.

Took it to the range today for shock testing, and it did fine. Handful of bird shot, some buck shot, and one slug. The cheap light takes a lickin' ...

Think I will get the $10 tailcap switch from Midway now.

Various manufacturers used to make flashlight clamps to attach a maglight to a rifle or shotgun barrel, but I haven't seen any in a long time. (Everything now is for rails, which none of my rifles have.)

The end cap on the LED Maglights is different from the one on incandescents.
