Well I am really surprised!!
I scan THR daily as a moderator and am sure surprised to run across these beautiful pictures by Atticus with exceptional taste to show a classy weapon together with the boxes in good condition also. The grip I last made in 1974 and the mint grip and gun are showing their age well.
The Smiths always have drawn my eye because of their beauty of line and design. The founder of Fitz grips back in 1919 did not like the Plow Handle type grips and in carving his own and doing well with it at the range, his friends gathered around and one feeling it said "it Fits" and that is where the Fitz name came from.
The main orientation of Fitz grips was for Law Enforcement officers to shoot better like pointing their finger at a target and being able to hit the target in the dark without seeing the weapon so the Fitz grip orients the pistol naturally and comfortably like pointing your finger. Instead of calling it a police grip, it was named it a gunfighter grip. The company was given to me by the elderly owner (who wanted to travel the world) after I fired Distinguished Expert with my J frame 2 inch with a pair of his grips on a police range and he tested my honesty. Unfortunately the factory burnt and the price of plastics tripled in 1979 so I closed the company with the remaining grips placed in storage until last year when I came on the internet.
The pic is of my model 60 I fired DX with, and my police instructors hat I won off a National Guard General's head when I was 17.
Thanks Atticus
