Picked up a winchester model 94 30 30 today i traded one of my shotguns for it. I think it is a sweet deal its a great rifle the only thing wrong is the butt stock was cut to add a soft butt pad to it. according to the serial #215xxxx she was built in 1956 and she still shoots sweet. Now that is America at its finest.... It has a bit of rust on the reciever anyone have any good tips on how to get that off without scratchin her up thanks.

I would find some replacement furniture for the old gal and make sure she is dressed the way she was when first born. :)

You can still find factory stocks and forends as well as aftermarket...but go with a factory.

Another hearty "Welcome to the club". I have an NRA 100 year commemorative M94 that is one of my favorite guns to just go out and do some plinking with. :)

You got a good gun. I have one in 32 Win. Spl, made a few years before yours and its a great gun. The action is smooth, its reliable and pretty accurate. If only .32 Win ammo wasn't so damn expensive, but I think I'm getting a set of .32 dies for Christmas.

Sucks about the stock being cut. Keep your eyes open for an authentic replacement. I don't know if a post-64 stock will fit it.
