New Project Gun - 20 Ga. Saiga

I've got a Saiga-410 and a Saiga-12 but no Saiga-20 (hope to rectify that someday). One thing I have noticed about my Saiga-12 is that some brands of 3" shells feed better than others, but all of the 2.75" shells feed well.

I've heard that the Saiga-20 takes a little longer to get it broken in than the other Saigas, so don't be discouraged if you get some FTFs when you first take it out to the range. Make sure to try different types of ammo and note which performs the best.

I would suggest getting a Blackjack Buffer for it- I've got them on my Saigas and they are great- they reduce felt recoil and cut back on the metal-to-metal pounding.

Check out the Saiga forum at www.saiga-12.com for more detailed info on the Saigas.

Welcome to Saigaworld- they are a blast!

This has been chewed over before. The Archives have a number of threads on the Saigas....

I have a Saiga 20, and as mentioned before, it is taking a little while to break in. It works just fine with 3" Federal slugs, but still gives an occasional failure with buckshot.

Haven't played with it in a long time, and if I had it to do all over again, I would go for the 12 gauge.

Still, it is nice and compact, and holds great potential.

I have a Saiga12K which is 12gauge. Have used mostly 2 3/4 shotshell and has not jammed yet. Have fired about 150 rounds thru it.

I haven't yet tried putting a Blackjack buffer but have heard good things about them.

I would use the search. There are a bunch of us that have posted here about Saigas. I wrote a SWAT magazine review of them a few years ago, and now I'm a distributor for Russian American Armory. I love them.
