Orygun!
I received an RCBS bench priming tool today. And boy, is this tool junk. I started to mount it on a 6"x8"x1" board that would work in my quick switch system. But it wouldn't work, too short (height) so I got a 2"x4" board about 10" long. Again too short. Boy were the RCBS engineers asleep when they designed this tool? After way too much fiddling with the brand new tool, I was finally able to mount the tool so it work. Severely depressed after I paid nearly $90.00 and couldn't even prime one case until I had to design a way to mount it...

J.K.!
Well, I learned tool bashing from Lee users and just thought I'd "compliment" a tool in the same manner. In reality I did have to figger out a way to mount it because when mounted flat, with the base against the bench, the handle hits the bench top long before a primer is fed then inserted/seated. But actually no big deal and I just drilled out one of the mounting holes to 5/16" and turn the tool so the handle sticks out over the edge of the bench. Once I got used to pressing down the handle to feed a prime then raise the handle to inset a case then push down the handle to seat the primer everything went quite smoothly. Took a whole 5 minutes to figure:p it out...

I was going to ask if we were using the same tool? :D

I just got one myself and it works very well but the handle does require some creative mounting. Not the most thrilled with mounting options but I think this will just push me to adopting the Inline Fabrication quick change setup. I very much like the tool itself.

And almost $90? Sounds like I overpaid from Midway...

I have two holes in the reloading bench that come out in a drwer so I can run bolts up through to hold thngs, so I would come up with something to mount it to that I could bolt to those holes.

Part of my system is T-Nuts. I drilled a hole, strategically located, through the top of my bench. I used 5/16-18 T-Nuts on the underside of the bench top and it has worked quite well since I set up my shop (I knew I would quickly run out of bench space if I didn't come up with a simple solution. My presses are mounted via a Rock Block system). With the low swing of the RCBS handle, it would hit the bench top when mounted flat or on a board, so with a mounting hole already in place all I had to do was enlarge the 1/4" mounting hole to 5/16" and use my present system with the handle sticking out beyond the bench edge. Only primed 20 or so cases, but so far it works smoothly and positively. I may figger out a mount/table type mount so the handle doesn't stick out beyond the bench, but for now, all is good...

Update; For me, the most difficult part of using the RCBS bench priming tool is the primer tubes. Never used a primer tube system and it took me about 10-15 minutes to figger it out (primer flipper trays on the way). And replacing the retaining pin is a real PITA for my old fat fingers. But 100 small pistol primers seated and 180 large pistol primers seated and no faux pas..
