i'm not very good at matching colors, but it won't matter in the dark.

6.5x47L, with SilencerCo Omega, and their new Radius LRF on the spuhr "wilcox RAPTAR adapter" mount, over vortex gen2 4.5-27x and PVS-27
sure looks goofy, but it works. list of desired improvements (i.e. crap I'm still whining about) is down to about 53 items now

Omega - sounds awesome, but jury is still out on recoil reduction. At first I was super impressed with it, but now for some reason I can't seem to tell a difference, switching between it and the TBAC.

Radius - don't have a ton of time on it, but really like it so far. ranged stuff over 2000 yards in the dark. Would benefit from a larger friggin font for people with older eyes. I wonder if spuhr makes a mount to hold a pair of reading glasses in front of it?

Surgeon action - not a fan. kinda regretting it. shoots well though. and it dang sure throws brass out of arms reach where my bighorns never dropped them more than about 6" from the port (and far too often, they never made it out of the port)

Sentinel - awesome as always. NV rail wing (on far side) still needs work and have to mill out the bottom metal to accept the x-treme trigger bar and the atlas can't tilt full range, but there is so much right with this stock. captured trigger screws, short/wide forearm is great on barricades, flush cups in the right places, ambi mag release that you don't accidentally hit, mini-chassis so no bedding required, proper angle on the palm swell, cheek piece moves laterally,

Vortex gen2 - great scope if it had a reticle that doesn't suck. Interestingly, in this configuration, I won't say it's impossible to zero, but it would take some out of the box thinking. The radius is QD and can easily be removed, but the spuhr RAPTAR adapter is blocking one of the 3 screws on the elevation turret. It would probably have to be removed to adjust zero.

xtreme mod22 trigger - hard to see in pic, but still my fav trigger by far. this one took me longer than normal to adjust, but it's safe and crisp and reliable, which i have yet to see in any other trigger.

6.5x47L - much easier to shoot than my 260AI. currently 300 fps slower though. noticeably less recoil, easier to see trace, but definitely have to be on the wind calls...

atlas bipod - solid, but slow. traverse is great, sides stick out and bump into stock limiting tilt travel.

Awesome gun one question what will you use it for at night maybe I missed that I'm not against it for sure just curious is all

I've seen this discussed elsewhere with no real resolution so I'll get your opinion. Is it better to have the scope or the night vision in front? and why?

i mostly shoot steel. occasional pig when i go to texas.

i suppose with a 1x red dot you could make a lot of different configs work, but I'm not aware of anyone who puts NV behind a normal day scope. that would totally screw with your eye relief. i have seen people put something like a PVS14 behind a spotting scope and you can make that work but it's suboptimal. (but roughly 1/5th the price though)

i could turn the turret, but then it wouldn't be on 'zero'. so i'd have to measure how far off my impact would be with the turret rotated 30* and then make a special target to shoot at. i think that would work. prob easier to just unscrew it.

Pardon me for not knowing all the relevant nomenclature, but it looks like the doo-dad on top of the scope could go forward a bit to the bell of the scope and let you reach the elevation knob.

:) the doo-dad on top (http://beyondhuman.com/radius/) quick detaches, so i don't put it on unless i want to play with it. the part that is in the way is the rail underneath which bolts directly to the front ring and is fairly short

NOD in front of the scope that way if you need to pull the NOD and use the scope clean you don't have to make any adjustments.

If you two have suggestions for making it lighter and more compact I would love to hear them.

Have you ever seen "The Village", the scene where everyone is at a party at night and all of a sudden these super creepy porcupine woods people attack..... I'm thinking its for that kind of situation. At least it seems like it would be handy in such an event.

Taliv,

What kind of dies do you use for your precision rifles? I just bought my first set of FL bushing dies for my 6.5 Creedmoor that's on the way. I've heard they are an improvement over standard FL dies but I'm curious what serious shooters are actually using.

Medium Palma.

I use redding full length bushing die for sizing. I use a LE Wilson hand die seater. I tried the Sinclair version with micrometer top on it for no good reason. I love it. But don't know that it's any better than the normal Wilson one.

Just weighed it. 18.26 lbs. 2 whole pounds heavier than I would have guessed. But it's still pretty manageable. I can post some videos of me running some barricades with a similar setup. I have a personal par time of 10 seconds per position when training. If I got out of shape enough that I couldn't meet that then I guess I'd either change my fitness program or start compromising on barrel profile and stock and get a lighter scope. Etc
