I bought my Grandson a 10/22 Takedown for Christmas. It came with one BX-1, 10 round magazine. I bought him a single clear BX-1 magazine and I also got him a 3-pack of the black BX-1 mags so he would have 5 total. We are in California so 10 rounders are the max capacity.
I took him to the range yesterday to shoot his new rifle for the first time and we had problems. I explained to him that these things happen so he wasn’t too disappointed but I sure was.
3 of the 5 mags locked up and wouldn’t feed upon the first time using them. Without disassembly I don’t know why they froze up. We loaded them with 10 rounds of Remington Golden Bullet ammo. The tenth round went in and they froze up.
I am not impressed or amused. It’s obvious Ruger has cut corners on their newer magazines as opposed to the ones I have that I bought years ago.
I am not sure if I should disassemble and attempt a repair or just contact Ruger.
Anyone else have issues with these magazines?
