I was ogling a new Ruger GP100 TALO 1772 (7-shot) at the LGS the other day, but thought twice about it after reading about issues with rim bind on early models. However, some folks are reporting that the issue has been resolved on newer models, so I decided to bring it home and see how it runs. I test fit various loads with no binding, hopefully it will prove to be trouble-free at the range this weekend.

I believe the binding issue occurred after firing the gun because the cases expand.

Hope your gun is OK.

Well, mine is a late 2018 so it's most likely a "pre-corrected" model. People who have experienced problems seem to report more issues with .38 Special than .357 Magnum. I have Federal and Speer Lawman .38 Special and they both fit without touching, so we'll see what transpires at the range tomorrow.

Took the first range trip with the GP100 and all I can say is, I LOVE this gun! I really don't know why I waited this long to acquire one.

DA pull is a little long but smooth. DA is crisp. I shot decent groups but they were a bit high; might be ammo, might be rear sight elevation, might be me... I'm going to try some different brands and types, but likely it's just me not being used to revolvers.

I experienced no binding or difficulty to extract. Overall this is a very enjoyable gun to shoot.
