My wife was just reading about them in the new issue of G&A. She thinks she may want one. I know a 22LR handgun is not high on the list for CC. Like they say it is better then a pointed stick.
Has anyone had a chance to fire one yet? Pros and cons. Deep down i too think it could be a good old fun gun at the range. The price is not bad at all. MSRP $399.00 So it will most likely be less.

I was reading reviews and studying this last night. Wife would like to have a .22 to carry on her and because of the ammo cost. I said why not a 9mm and she said you have your 40 with you and I shouldnt be out anywhere crazy without you.

Went to a gun show looking for it today and no one had one. Plenty of the MK III's but wife really didnt like the style of them. We seen one Walther and I told her a lot of people liked them as well but she didnt like the way it felt in her hands so on we go hunting.

They are very nice, and seem to be reliable with many types of ammo, even the very cheap & very crappy (Remington). I love mine, and I must have ~30 22lr handguns & rifles...

It's a nice pistol. Not for CCW or self defense unless it's all that was available, but for plinking and training it's a lot of fun.

I just bought one. It was not $309 as mentioned above. Gunshops in my area tend to price the new offerings higher due to demand. The new Rugers simply do not stay on the shelf long for now. Hence, they charge a little extra. The SR22 pistol was only out on display for an hour before I purchased it. I don't blame the dealers in the least on pricing. I would do something similar if I owned the gunshop. It is a business after all.

If it functions reliably, it will be a nice addition to my field plinking guns and if you want to use it at home for self defensive purposes, that's your choice. Be sure to be completely comfortable with the gun functionality and the ammo if you use it for home defense.
