New S&W 29-2

Keep it comin’ boys, love this forum! Thank you!

Update: I reached out to the FFL I bought it from and inquired about the jeweling on the hammer and trigger. I asked if he would’t mind reaching out to the previous owner to inquire about it and he agreed. As it turns out, the owner sent the gun to TJ’s Custom Gun Works in Culver City, CA for an action job and to have the jeweling done. The trigger IS really good; not sublime, but really smooth and the SA is perfectly crisp. Soooo, I may keep it like it is after all. Checking TJ’s current prices, the cost for the basic trigger job and polishing/jeweling of the trigger is a little beyond insane. I still have a replacement hammer/trigger set inbound and can always swap it out if I can’t stand the bling anymore. :)

Update:

I had the gunsmith at my LGS fit my EBay target hammer and trigger set and he did a fabulous job! The case colors are excellent and he “massaged” the trigger a little bit for a 9.5 lb DA pull and a 2.5 lb SA trigger. Absolutely perfect. I have the jeweled parts in case anybody wants them, lol. Headed to the range tomorrow to see how she does.

It does! And it shoots beautifully! I took it to the range today with some of my light magnum handloads (240 grain LSWC and 8 grains Win 244). These run 1050 fps from my 6” revolvers and show shockingly low extreme spreads (9 fps). 2.5-3” 25 yard groups offhand were no problem and I went 12 for 12 on the 8” plate at 50 yards. Love it. So do I feel lucky?

Love 29-2 and all the other 29 versions as long as they are blue and haven't been fired a lot -YET.
Like you, I have to have target trigger, target sights, and target hammer and target grips. No rubber hammers for me.
I also had to ORDER target hammers and such for other S&W models, but never for a model 29 or 27 or 25.
Also, the presentation box is very important, like others said, to get such box will cost a lot.
That is a great revolver you have, RUN IT.
