They just had to go ahead and do it. Looks like I have another item to add to the list. Maybe this one will be a .270 for me.

I have a hard time seeing how people complain about something like a stock on a budget gun, especially one that will net you the accuracy Savage is known for (which can only improve over the original Axis given the addition of the Accutrigger). Sure, they could put a better stock on it, but the gun will cost an extra $75-100. Then all we'd be hearing is about how the Axis rifles aren't budget rifles anymore...

I'll probably buy one. I put the AT from my 111 in an Axis for a while, felt great. The stock is flimsy of course, but for a general purpose rifle, it's fine and very lightweight. If some good stocks hit the market, the addition of the AT will basically make it a slightly cheaper 111.
