Just got a new Norinco N870 rem 14" 12 gauge shotgun. But I cant help but think about the barrel all the time its only 14 inches. Too short? Or is short good? Leave some opinions for me :D.. Thanks!

Short means ease of handling in tight places. The tradeoff is LOTS of blast and flash.

You have to decide if it's worth it.

I'll leave more than an opinion...

You are in violation of the criminal code in Canada and the US. Note this paragraph describing restricted firearms:

a rifle or shotgun that has been altered to make the barrel length less than 457 mm (18 inches) where the overall firearm length is 660 mm (26 inches) or more;

You should immediately remove and legally get rid of that short barrel, and replace it with an 18.5" one. And make sure the overall length is greater than 26".

I would do it immediately after reading this post.

I don't know if the mere posession of a short shotgun barrel that is not mounted to a shotgun is illegal or not, but I would not take the chance. Jail time for possession of a metal tube that is four inches shorter than the government likes is not worth it. I would probably cut the barrel in such a way as to render it useless, and then chuck it in the trash.

No, he is not.

a rifle or shotgun that has been altered

It was not altered. It comes from the factory in this condition. It is restricted(per being less than 18.5 inches) but not prohibited.
