New sig coming in april

Maybe I'm the only one who didn't know this but Sig showed their new 238 in380 at the '09 shot show. It looks like a small 1911 and is modelled after, I think, a colt mustang which went out of production several years ago. It will sell for around $500 and is looks VERY easy to carry, metal frame, just a tad bigger than a LCP. It should be out in April. I googled it and think I just may have to order my first Sig. I suspect they will sell like hot cakes because it seems the .380 is growing in demand for CC and most manufacturers have jumped on the bandwagon. As a result, it seems 380 ammo is harder to find now than 9mm, 40 or 45. There is some decent ammo now from Hornady and Corbon and others that make it a viable SD weapon. I find it really easy to stick one of these little guns in my pocket and not have to buy larger pants for IWB, or wear a jacket on a warm day. YMMV.

As you say, .380 ammunition is getting extremely hard to come by. I've been to two different gunshows over the last couple of weeks, and except for a few boxes of specialized JHP ammunition, there was no FMJ .380 to be found. And over the last two months, only one of the area Walmarts had three boxes of 100 round WWB for around $33.00, but those were quickly sold out, and I have not seen any more since then.

Why would Sig develop a new gun in 380 when they already have the P232
which has an excellent reputation? I have the one with the alloy frame. It is
very light and almost no felt recoil.
I also have a Kahr PM9 which us a 9mm. A better round and it's still cheaper than the .380 ammo out there. While the Kahr is more expensive, if you use it enough, the cost of the ammo could be off setting and like I said it is a more powerful round.
Just my opinion and food for thought.

Thanks for the heads up! That is a neat looking pistol. I like the all black Nitron version. It even comes with night sights! And is that a slide safety or are my eyes failing me?

Might have to get my spray bottle and rag and head out to the nearest intersection to make enough to cover this.

Because it's a lot smaller and lighter. The trend now is for little .380 pocket rockets.

Not to mention with .380ACP placement is *everything* a good SA trigger with cocked and locked carry would have a place in my carry rotation if it was significantly smaller & lighter then my Kahr PM40 like the P3AT is. The sights look a lot better than what is on the P3AT or the Ruger LCP.
