Brought home a new to me 10-5 snubby today. There is a little haze in spots where it sat in a holster for years. I'll try to get as much of it out as I can, but I'm not too worried about it.

Took it out and shot it. Typical older smith, shot like a dream and a nice trigger. The gun was practically unfired when I bought it. At $200 how do you say no?

For $200 you don't speak; you just get your wallet out as quickly as possible and then you say "I'll take it!"

Great find!

$200? With good case hardening coloration on hammer & trigger.

You wouldn't be pulling our collective legs now , would you?

Private sale , I take it?

Yes, it was most definitely a private sale. It was an inherited gun found in a grandpas closet by a middle aged grandson.

I was surprised he didn't want to keep it and I even told him the value of it. He isn't a gun guy, is actually quite afraid of them, so he wanted it gone. I gladly accepted his offer.

Ideal seller!

Here's a 10-7 snub in nickel that I wish I could say I paid 2 bills for! Nickel finish is really hard to get good close-ups of ... the piece looks much better in person.

While I have no use for heavy and relatively bulky six shot revolver I would buy that for $200. The "wholesale" price for one like that is about $300. That is what happened to me with Remington 870 Special Purpose Deer gun in excellent condition. The price was $225+ change out the door. I can use that for hunting and HD. Thank you very much.

It will make a great carry gun for those days I want to carry a revolver. I've just about quit carrying my Airweight j frame.

My love a real firing pin and a pinned barrel. A real S&W not the lie they sell today. With MIM parts and barrels that have been known to fall off in a few rounds. My brother has a 36 no dash. I am trying to get .He will never shoot it . It locked n desk in his office in basement .

No. You want the model 12. That was the best carry revolver ever made. The modern equivalent is G26 or G19. Take your pick.

Today if they made S&Ws with recessed chambers, barrel pin, and non MIM parts almost nobody would buy the final product. Most Americans are very stingy with their money.

Congrats. You got a great deal!

I manage to get some good deals but always wish I could find more. I'd have jumped on that for 2 bills in a heart beat.

I had a S&W M29 Nickle that looked worse than yours that had been holstered for years. Used Mothers Mag wheel polish to clean it up and was amazed how well it cleaned it up. Available at about any Wal Mart or Auto Parts store. Nice purchase!
