For the OP, not sure why you're doing what you're doing. Hardball has always had a great reputation as a manstopper, or even a horsestopper. Ballistically, it's not much different than .45 Colt. It's a punkin roller; short, fat and slow gets it done.
If you really have to have horsepower, get a 10mm or a magnum wheelgun.
Shooting hardball is nothing like kissing your sister. Take the win, and be satisfied.

I understand. But most of the 45acp hasn’t changed from inception of the round. Most expanding bullets are made to expand in the velocity window of the acp. There’s only a few companies that have actually loaded 45acp to decent velocities. I have a 10mm also that I load for. I’ve also got 2 44mags I load for. It’s not about having a single pistol and trying to blow it up. I want the preformance out the round. As a reloaded that’s what I want. I want accuracy and preformance. With a modern pistol there’s no reason to worry about the hardness of the metal. 1000fps with a 230gr I’m pretty happy with. If I decide to run 45 super speeds then I’ll put some more work into it.
And my 250s aren’t 1100fps. They’re 960fps. Right in line with buffalos bore ammo
