An option for not having to cut down a beautiful hard wood Wingmaster forend is the Mesa 4 shot right side Shell holder. Of course it is 2 less rounds then the 6 shot but keeps one from damaging a classic part on a classic gun. You will also find loading from that side is easier then the left side once you get in the habit.

I've got practically the same gun and converted it as well. Went to AI&P site and looked at his video on the flex tab, bolt and slide assembly and did the conversion. Kept the original 26" Imp. cylinder vent rib barrel in case it's needed later.

It works fine!

Did you install the flex tab conversion?

I completed the install of the Flex tab conversion last night. Works great! Thanks for the info and help.

I do have one question which is not related to it. It seems the last two shells (#5&6 loaded into the +2 mag extension seem to sometimes hang on something while being loaded. Do you recommend radiusing the inside of the mag extension or anything? I can eventually get them loaded but it may take a couple of tries. It's an OEM Remington extension.

Thank,

James

Looks very nice. I have used the Mesa side saddles and liked them. Do you plan on mounting a light?

A friend passed away & left me a 870 Wingmaster.
It looks new--one problem-it is 16 gage.
looks like I need a new reloader.
Will give me something else to do.
