Try a Browning factory mag or Mecgar mag before changing anything else. I would bet it is the mag. If it does not run properly then move on to recoil spring.

I personally like 18.5 lb wolf recoil spring in BHPs and their clones. Good luck

BTW, I did experience one FTE and a couple of failures to feed the first round upon slide release (came with 1 13 round mag), I'm thinking a set of new springs (recoil and magazine mainly) might be in order. I did that for my DWM P.08 Luger and it did wonders for that gun's reliability. Does anyone know the stock recoil spring weight off the top of their head? Is the OEM weight best, or would a slightly stiffer spring be a better option. I don't plan to shoot +P, just standard pressure.
I responded to your question on the other board. I know people use 18.5-lb. springs when shooting hotter ammo through their BHPs, but I wasn't aware that some people ran them with these springs all the time. WVsig is a BHP pro, however, and whatever he says is reliable info.

Regardless of whether you go for the OEM weight spring or the 18.5-lb. spring, you should chuck out the factory FEG spring. I've read a number of FEG owners say that the factory recoil (and magazines) springs are too weak.
