Over the last few weeks, this revolver has made a remarkable transformation. I ended up opening the gun back up and giving the internals and inside the frame some much-needed attention. The rebound slide and mating surface got quite a bit of polish work to remove some pretty deep scratches. The inside of the frame and side plate got some smoothing out in certain places. I adjusted the strain screw just a little and all of that resulted in a very smooth buttery trigger pull.
I also gave the gun a reasonable attempt at a polish job-this removed most of the wear, but still left some pretty deep nicks that I’m okay living with. So the gun ended up tidy-looking and reasonable, with a nice trigger pull.
I lucked into some nice old Mustang walnut combat grips for it, and placed it in a new Azula holster that just arrived today. Very, very pleased with how it turned out.
This gun isn’t a project gun anymore-it has been returned to service as a good-looking, respectable, good shooter.
