Hi everyone and greetings~

In the past 3 months I have become enamored with firearms. About ten years ago an old Cuban man that worked for my dad gave him a rifle. At the time I was 15 and I couldn't have cared less. Most recently I have not only fire that rifle, I purchased a similar one; it came in predictable milsurp shape. The wood had many dings that I mostly raised with steam after stripping the stock. I had to use a heat gun to bake cosmoline out of the wood to get the rifle to stop smelling like a jiffy lube. I completely refinished the wood; it now carries 10+ coats of Linseed oil. It was packed with cosmoline. Now the gun is, in my opinion lovely. The rifle giften to mt father was an unfired Russian SKS. A beauty, the metal finish 100%, stock in perfect condition; I put the first rounds through it 3 months ago. Very accurate in the hands a of novice.

I ended up purchasing a Togu m59/66A1. You know how you kind of like your first purchase a little more than any other? I will throw some pics up.

So I am ready to get another rifle. I kind of have a list of some I like. I tend to like Russian and other eastern weapons.

SVT-40
Mosin Nagant m44
maybe the FN49

Maybe if anyone has some suggestions- I tend to stay away from AK variants, my brother has an SA-85.

Nice looking Yugo! I have one just like it. Next you will need to buy a Mosin Nagant M44. Ammo is cheap and the fire ball that comes out the end of them when fired to too good to pass up. Check out that muzzle blast!:

Nice 'ball, okespe4.

But between the recoil and the sharp rocks underneath you, I have to assume you tore the seat of your pants right open.

oh and a 03 Curio and Relic FFL. this will aloow you to get a large number of surplus and older firearms (rifles, pistols and shotguns) delivered directly to your door. you dont have to pay retail prices, instead you can get them at wholesale prices

First step, get your C&R as mentioned above. Then, while waiting a month for it to come it, you'll scour all of the online dealers to whom you wish to send a copy, SOG, CIA, AIM, etc. and see all of their lovely milsurps. By the time you get your license, the question won't be which to get. It'll be which to get first. First one you buy pays for your license.

Mosin's are the cheapest and a lot of fun. They're a great starting point.
